Whatever your preferred pastimes, this delightful barn offers a perfect base to enjoy the local Suffolk countryside and attractions. There are myriad walking and cycling tracks through charming villages whereas nearby Thetford Forest will suit the more active guest or perhaps enjoy the sights at one of the National Trust properties in the area. A short drive away you will find Bury St Edmunds, a pretty market town, which offers a wide array of amenities and attractions for all ages including the cathedral and abbey gardens, prestigious shopping, an award-winning market and Theatre Royal. Further afield lies Suffolk’s Heritage Coast home of RSPB reserve Minsmere, Orford Ness, Snape Maltings Shops and Concert Hall, as well as the lovely sandy beaches of Walberswick and Southwold.

The barn has been tastefully decorated in stylish neutral tones for a calming sophisticated feel while the high ceilings and tiled flooring throughout create a light and airy atmosphere. Accessed via the entrance hall, with handy storage for muddy boots and leading through to the stunning open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with full height windows giving uninterrupted panoramic views over the Suffolk countryside. Large sliding doors allow guests to really bring the outside in while the lounge area enjoys comfortable sofas, Smart TV/DVD and contemporary freestanding wood burner. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob and warming drawer, fridge/freezer with ice and water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave and wine chilling cabinet. Guests have the choice of using the dining table or the useful breakfast bar with stools. The utility room contains a handy sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. From the inner hall, there is a bathroom with a low-level window so that the view can be enjoyed while soaking in the bath, a separate shower and WC. A king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made into a twin on request), Smart TV and en-suite bathroom with corner bath, separate shower and WC. The second bedroom features twin zip-and-link beds (which can be made into a super-king-size on request) with TV.

Venturing outside, guests will find a side garden, fully enclosed with garden furniture. The front garden featuring a private patio area with BBQ plinth and hot tub, purposefully placed to enjoy the views and more garden seating, ideal for a spot of alfresco dining and glass of wine on a warm summer evening.

Excellent location. Peaceful setting and central for days out to the coast and IWM at Duxford. 10 minute drive to Diss with its lovely mere and boardwalk. Loved the village of Eye and the market town of Harleston. Chocolate brownie on arrival was devine.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, Katie and Kevin have thought of everything. We had a really nice welcome, very thoughtful in tailoring to our needs. Secure and dog friendly with area to the side for our dog to run around. Hot tub was great, maintained a good temperature. Would not hesitate to recommend, lovely clean property, very peaceful stay.

We loved our stay at The Rectory Cottage. It was immaculately clean & very well equipped. The bedrooms were light & airy, the beds very comfortable & lovely quality linen & fluffy towels - we liked that you could access the garden/jacuzzi area from your bedroom. Due to owning a dog we tend to Holiday in the UK 3 times a year and we would have to say this is one of the best Holiday Cottages we have stayed in. By far the best cottage we have stayed in and worthy of its 5 star rating. Everything had been thought of and we were welcomed with Prosecco and delicious home made brownies. The location is stunning and we walked through miles of beautiful countryside directly from the property. The secure garden was perfect for our cocker spaniel. It is a unique property offering superb facilities at a reasonable cost in a lovely location. With a limited number of holidays per year we have to take the opportunity to explore other areas.
