The Eden Valley is blissfully distracting from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. Local villages nearby offer pubs, bakeries, tea rooms and independent shops. Right from your door walkers and cyclists will be in their element, with the Coast to Coast path close by and just a short drive from Penrith, Pooley Bridge and Ullswater Lake. Further afield is Alston with unspoilt landscapes and one of the country’s highest market towns. Also nearby is Appleby and Kirby Stephen offering historic buildings, castle, shops, cafe’s, pubs and restaurants.

Enter this traditional Cumbria cottage and you will instantly see the renewed life the owners have given to bring it back to its glory. Firstly, on the left is a snug area with Smart TV and sofa, ideal for a movie night in. On the right is the lounge/diner with a large comfy chair and sofa in front of the wood burner effect electric fire to create a cosy atmosphere, a wall mounted Smart TV and the dining table which seats six. Heading through is a separate WC then onto the kitchen which has been tastefully renovated but still has the feel of a classic country kitchen. Here you will find everything you need to create a feast with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Heading up to the first floor we have a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower over bath and WC and finally a triple bunk bedroom (a double with single over).

Wildflower Cottage is lovely with lots of original features and a cute garden with lovely views to the fields behind, sheep grazing and the pennines in the distance. It has everything you need and was nice and warm. Area is lovely but heavy traffic from the Gypsum factory. Great base for exploring lakes, Eden Valley and pennines.

Lovely cottage, very comfy with everything you need. Seperate snug ideal for kids watching tv etc. Great selection of streaming on TV. Nothing to do in local village but close enough to Penrith, Ullswater etc. Beds comfy, well equipped kitchen. Felt homely.

Cottage was terrific. Decent base for exploring area. Bistro is only a few yards away but was closed as is being sold (2023). This was a real shame. Would recommend the cottage, it was excellent.

Cottage is very nice, cosy clean, comfortable & has everything you need for your stay- even cling film& foil. Bigger than expected & great secure garden for our dog to play. Loved watching the bunnies in the field. We struggled to get live tv but it wasnt a problem as made us do other things. Not much to do nearby but again wasnt a problem as we weRead morent out for days. The lorries going constantly up & down can be annoying. A great base Hide

Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely country cottage. There was so much to see and do - we visited the Yorkshire Dales, which were beautiful as well as parts of The Lake District. We found the cottage really comfortable and having a tv in both downstairs rooms kept the kids very happy ( and us too ! ).

Discovering Eden valley was wonderful. Bit noisy from A66 road but it didnt bother me. Comfortable bed. Power from shower was disappointing. Cottage has everything I needed so thank you. Cute garden, I too loved seeing the rabbits from the corridor window.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was clean, well equipped and had a lovely little garden. It was convenient to get to other towns and Penrith. Its off the main road but we didnt hear any noise from the road. We would definitely think of going again.

As a family of 5 we found the cottage spacious, well equipped and in a lovely quiet location with friendly neighbours. The garden was secure, child friendly and great for sitting out in the evenings. There were lots of personal touches which gave it that home from home feeling.

We loved it! I feel some of the previous reviews were a little harsh to be honest. Yes its near the A66 but its a 40mph average speed stretch so just a constant hum that didnt bother us. The trucks going up the road was a bit of a pain as they didnt always drive slowly but they are building a bypass. A wonderful little cottage though, beautiful garRead moredens overlooking fields and animals and some beautiful places on your doorstep. Id happily book again. Hide

Lovely well equipped cottage. Owners accommodated our booking on short notice - thank you. Great little garden too. If you could get rid of the noise from the lorries on through the village and on the A66 it would be an even better spot!

The cottage is beautiful & clean, and had everything for a short stay. Very pretty back garden & cool in hot weather. Near road to explore the area. However the road noise from the A66 behind and the traffic on narrow road in front completely spoiled it for me and these should really be mentioned in the details of the cottage. Combined with slurry Read moresmell from dairy meant couldnt relax in garden and had to shut windows- such a shame and I dont believe it was worth the fee we paid Hide
