Possibly the best suite in town, Penthouse 80 is located on the 5th floor of the Bishop’s Wharf development in the centre of York. Ten minutes’ walk from all the best shops, restaurants and attractions, the apartment is cool and contemporary and enjoys panoramic views over the River Ouse, Clifford’s Tower and York Minster.
Location
Situated at number 80, Postern Close, the Bishop’s Wharf Development is on the south bank of the river Ouse, near Skeldergate Bridge. The city centre and main shopping area are a ten minute walk away, York railway station and race course 15 minutes. The apartment has reserved, off-street parking. It feels close enough to be buzzing yet is far enough away from the action to be a relaxing place to watch the world go by.

Accommodation
The apartment is full-on 21st century in style, decorated in neutral shades, with hard wood floors in the sitting/dining area, a white sofa and easy chairs and various black and white photos of the city around the walls. Both the lounge and bedroom enjoy spectacular views of York Minster, Clifford's Tower, the river and York city centre.
Facilities
The accommodation, accessed via lift you’ll be pleased to hear, comprises one bedroom with a 5' Hypnos orthopaedic bed and Tempur pillows, a bathroom with a power shower and a sitting room with a TV, DVD, video and CD player and wireless broadband access. The kitchen, leading off the living area, has white painted wood units and everything needed for self-catering, including a fridge/freezer, oven/microwave and dishwasher. There’s also a washer/drier.
Don’t bother to bring towels or dressing gowns - all is provided, much like a five star hotel!

York and the surrounding area
York was named European Tourism City of the Year in November 2007. It’s a beautifully compact, walled, riversity city, with more than enough attractions for a long weekend city break. Must-see attractions include the stunning York Minster, the trendy high street shops and individual stores along Stonegate and High Petergate, the Jorvik Viking Centre which brings the city’s history to life, the National Railway Museum and York Castle Museum.
There’s a lively café, bar and restaurant culture, thanks in part to the University students, and vibrant entertainment and festivals year round. Don’t miss a teacake in Betty’s Tearooms – it’s a York tradition.
You are also only twenty minutes from the North Yorkshire countryside, and an hour from the coast.
