Property description
Stoneheights is a delightful apartment within Street Farm, a 16th century former Cumbrian farm on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Surrounded by wide open skies and fells, it is run by David and Alison Roper who have set up Stone Trail Holidays, to offer walking (from the door), riding and cycling holidays in this less touristy part of Cumbria.
Stoneheights apartment, along with its sister, Stoneyard (also for two), is one of two completed apartments in Street Farm’s outbuildings. Stoneyard is on the ground floor, Stoneheights above it. It makes a wonderful holiday base for a couple. It has been carefully restored and lovingly furnished, with exposed beams and a combination of cosy traditional furniture in the living room and contemporary fittings in the kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom. After a fabulous day in the fresh air you can cook for yourselves, or wander down to the inn ten minutes’ walk away. Back at Stoneyard, kick off your shoes and relax with books or films from the farm’s library in front of the log burner. Bliss!
