The Stables is an enchanting conversion of a Grade II listed stables, one of a range of three, tastefully restored Kerridge stone buildings providing up market, award-winning self catering holiday accommodation. It is located in the grounds of Kerridge End House, a former gentleman’s residence, built in 1837 for John Mellor.
The romantic, one-bedroom, ground-floor apartment has been given a complete, contemporary makeover whilst preserving the historic exterior and distinctive circular and semi-circular windows. The living/dining/kitchen area is open plan with oak flooring, leading to a separate king size bedroom and a fabulous big ensuite bathroom, with a double steam shower and jet spa bath. It is graded 5 star Gold by EnjoyEngland and has won various prestigious tourism awards.
On the doorstep are the Peak District, Pennines and the Cheshire Plains, offering some of the best walking and cycling opportunities in Britain.
Location
Kerridge End is on the edge of the conservation area village of Rainow. Rainow lies in the foothills of the Pennines, straddling the Cheshire boundary of the Peak District National Park. The nearest traditional pub is The Rising Sun, less than half a mile away. There is also a gastropub, The Highwayman, nearby. The nearest shops are a Co-Op (1.5 miles) and Tesco (2 miles).

Station: Macclesfield (2 miles – bus service from the cottage).
Accommodation
The lounge, dining and kitchen area are ideal for two. The kitchen area has granite worktops and a comprehensive range of equipment, including fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, built-in oven, hob and extractor. The lounge area has leather, sink-into sofa and armchair.
The bedroom has a kingsize double bed. The ensuite bedroom is a real treat, with a double steam shower enclosure, a jet spa bath, double sinks and a bidet.
Facilities
This is a great apartment to come home to after a day out walking in the Pennines or exploring the Peak District. Kick off your walking boots and settle down to a meal or a film on the flat screen LCD TV.
The price includes linen and towels, gas, electricity and full central heating.
A selection of books, games, DVDs and CDs are provided and WiFi internet connection is available throughout.

The apartment is the first self-catering property in Cheshire to receive the silver award by the Green Tourism Business Scheme. it also caters well
for the disabled (asssessed by the National Accessible Scheme as M1).

Macclesfield, Cheshire and the surrounding area
Cheshire’s Magnificent Seven National Trust properties are all within a 40-minute drive. These include Lyme Park, where Pride and Prejudice was filmed, and Tatton Park, the north west home of the RHS flower show.
The historic city of Chester is approximately one hour away. Within easy reach are a number of pretty villages with fine pubs, shops and restaurants.
The local market towns of Macclesfield, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek, great for shopping and sightseeing, are an easy drive away.
Rainow itself is blessed with a massive network of well-maintained footpaths, in total 44 miles, varying from quiet rambles to tough hill walking on rugged moors. The famous Gritstone Trail runs through the village. For cyclists, there are the Riding the Ridges and the Grit and Gears cycle routes close by.
