Deer Cottage is a small, flint affair in the heart of rural Sussex. With its feet literally touching a private tennis court which you can play on at any time, its French doors open onto a lawn where you can relax over breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening, watching the deer that regularly dot the hillside. From here, pathways lead directly into gorgeous woodland. With a continental breakfast hamper provide upon arrival, and friendly owners nearby should you need anything, the cottage is ideal for couples seeking a complete escape from the city.
Location
A bridleway and open countryside extends from the end of the lawn. The nearest pub is the Star and Garter in East Dean, just a mile away, which serves excellent food. The nearest food shops, supermarkets etc are in Chichester. The sea can be seen from the top of the nearby downs, 14 miles away. The nearest motorway junction is 12 on the M27 or 11 on the M23.
Airport: Gatwick
Station: Chichester (7 miles). Taxi service available. Fast trains to London (1.5 hrs).
Accommodation
The cottage is contemporary and tasteful inside, with wooden flooring and a light, sunny atmosphere. The kitchen/living room area is open plan, with a widescreen LCD satellite television, wireless internet access, an oak dining table, the latest cooking equipment and doors leading to your own private garden.
The bedroom, also on the ground floor, has a big, soft, kingsize double bed and two en suite shower rooms (so couples can have one each if required). They come complete with power showers, fluffy white towels and robes, and complimentary White Company toiletries. If you prefer a bath, there is a further bathroom under the eaves on the first floor, with a romantic roll-top bath.
