Property description

Hanworth Cottage and Heydon Cottage are two barns which were once part of a working farm. In recent years they have been beautifully converted into holiday accommodation, making full use of their original features – exposed beams, traditional flint and brick work are much in evidence.

Each barn, named after a local country house, is individual. They are decorated with pine furniture and tasteful fabrics. Living rooms are furnished with comfortable sofas and the double beds are queen-size. Under floor heating keeps them warm year-round.

Cromer, Norfolk and the surrounding area

There are some delightful places to visit along the North Norfolk coast, including:

Cromer (one mile), a bustling seaside town which grew up around the fishing industry - you can still buy the famous Cromer Crabs directly from the fishermen on the beach. There is safe bathing from the lovely sandy beach, or you can just stroll along the promenade. Jutting out into the sea is Cromer pier, home to a genuine End-of-the-Pier show at the Pavilion Theatre (various shows from May to October). In August, the town hosts one of the largest carnivals in Britain.

Sheringham – worth a visit for its unspoilt beaches, wonderful woodland and Sheringham Park National Trust property, particularly stunning in May/June when its rhododendrons are in full bloom. Good choice of restaurants, bistros and cafes.

Holt, ten miles away, is a pretty little market town, its heart a huddle of old houses. Great shops, including a wonderful deli and various bookshops and one-off clothings stores. Holt Country Park has several walks through shaded woods beside small ponds where you can fish during the season. Take a horse and cart ride to the station and catch the North Norfolk Steam Railway to Sheringham.

Other local attractions include Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Steam Railway (Sheringham to Holt), Thursford steam collection, Sheringham Golf Club, Blickling Hall (NT), Bure Valley Railway, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach.
