Property description
Set within the grounds of the owners’ home, Moonstone is a charming, single-storey detached barn two miles from the beach. Its big attraction is its minimalist, clean lines and high standard of comfort. Located in a sunny position, with a large patio area, Moonstone has underfloor heating, crisp bed linen, a round table for two and a lovely kitchen. A basket of organic vegetables will be provided (in season and weather permitting) by the owners to welcome you on arrival. The house is close to the timeless fishing village of Clovelly, and is the perfect place to come home to after a day exploring the coast.
Location
3.7 miles south east of Clovelly, with the nearest shop and pub 1.5 miles away in Bucks Mill. There’s a big supermarket in Bideford.
Accommodation
The kitchen/dining/living area is open plan. Two chocolate brown leather sofas surround the pebble-effect electric stove and look out through French doors to the patio and sun loungers. The kitchen is very well-equipped and leads to a utility room.
An ensuite bathroom leads off the double bedroom, again two rooms with clean, contemporary lines.
Facilities
These include a utility room with microwave, freezer and washing machine/tumble drier, a digital TV and DVD player, and an electric cooker, fridge and dishwasher. The bed is a 5-foot double, the bathroom has a bath and fitted shower.
The hire price includes electricity, full central heating, linen and towels.
There is parking space for two cars. The nearest phone is 1.5 miles away.
The property also takes a baby but please bring your own travel cot.
There are two local beauty spas nearby. Barton Court Spa has a heated indoor pool, hydrotherapy spa, sauna, relaxation room and gym. Downe Health Spa has holistic therapies and pamper days.

Clovelly, Devon and the surrounding area
The village of Bucks Mill, a famous north Devon beauty spot, is a short distance down the road. Further west, the little fishing village of Clovelly is a tourist favourite for its time-warp quality, its steep cobbled streets, picturesque cottages and tea rooms. Donkeys were formerly used to move goods around the village but, in the continued absence of space for cars, sledges are now used. Visitors have to park at the top and walk down to the harbour, often taking the landrover service back up.
Other local attractions include The Bell Inn a mile away, a classic thatched Devon inn complete with roaring log fire in the winter; Barton Farm Shop (1.5 miles); The Milky Way Adventure Park (falcony displays, various rides, maze etc); Red Lion Hotel (specializing in sea food); boat trips from Clovelly across to Lundy islande, a pristine little wilderness just off the coast.
