Charming converted apartment retaining many original features. A unique and quiet waterside location with patio doors leading out onto a cobbled wharf on the banks of the river. Shops and pub within walking distance.

This modern ground floor apartment, within a late 18th century building, retains many of the original features including wooden beams and stone pillars, with patio doors opening out onto the cobbled wharf on the banks of the river.  Leith boasts a very vibrant community with a wealth of pubs, parks and community events. It has become the top 'foodie' destination in Edinburgh and among the best in the UK with an enormous choice of restaurants within a small area including a Michelin star restaurant opposite.  The area enjoys a thriving 'Continental' atmosphere . Ocean Terminal boasts excellent shopping as well as a cinema complex, bars and restaurants, some overlooking the Royal Yacht Britannia, Commercial Wharf is also just a short walk away.  The 12 mile Water of Leith Walkway offers a lovely afternoon walk it runs from Leith to Balerno, a designated 'Urban Wildlife Site' and home to over 80 species of birds and patches of ancient woodland, passing many points of interest including the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Botanic Gardens and Dean Village.   The area has an excellent regular bus service into the city centre which runs day/night, the bus stop is just 200 meters from the accommodation.  There are ten local golf courses within 3 miles and the beautiful East Coast offers some of the best areas in Scotland for golf, with a wide array of stunning and historic courses.

Walking into the apartment from the secure entrance you will find the bedroom and bathroom off the hallway.  The double bedroom is bright and comfortable with French doors allowing access straight out to the cobbled walk way and Water of Leith. The bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.  The open plan lounge/kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer.  The lounge area has views over the water and has a TV, DVD and hi-fi to allow you to relax and enjoy a night in should you wish there is also a settee in the lounge/kitchen area. 

There is a large private car park at the rear of the property and a communal grass area for residents to enjoy.

The location is perfect for everything Edinburgh, with excellent transport on buses and trams. Apartment is very comfortable for 2 with the addition of good parking facility. Highly recommended and we will hopefully return.

Lovely flat, in an excellent location for exploring the area. Bonus that there is a car park space and that it is dog friendly. Highly recommend a stay at this flat.

Our 2nd visit. Great location only a 20 minutes walk to the city centre and 15minutes to Newhaven. Will be even better when the tram opens making it perfect for disabled.

Not the biggest apartment, but perfectly adequate for a single or a couple without too much luggage. Clean, warm, well maintained, and everything worked. The handy free parking was very much appreciated. Quite disappointing. Apart from the really good location and if you like accommodation with a student feel to it . Not suitable if youre uncomfortable in a confined space as bedroom barely enough as a single room. Great for food shopping but dont buy anything that needs heating up on the hob as not hot enough to boil an egg. Problem with ants in kiRead moretchen area. If youre used to a welcome pack(biscuits, milk etc) youll be disappointed as no such thing here. No bath mat provided . Hide

Great base for a few days. Well equipped and comfortable. Nice pubs, cafes and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Easy walk to Edinburgh City Centre.

3rd time staying in this apartment. Everything you would need for a great stay. Lovely, comfortable and fab location. 40 min gentle walk to the centre. Lots of pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. Free parking also a massive bonus.

This is a fantastic cosy little holiday let kitted out with all you need for a short break with easy parking. The apartment is only a 20 min bus ride from the City Centre and a 10 min walk from the Royal Yacht Britannia. Great bars and restaurants within a 2 min walk. Had a lovely week at The Cooperage. The apartment was clean , comfortable and well equipped. The location was excellent being near public transport links into Edinburgh city centre and right beside the tow path that allowed for a very pretty walk into the city. The cooperage is a lovely apartment .all you could need for a holiday .lovely setting ,clean ,tidy, comfortable . No 16 bus to Waverly steps a few metres away . Leith is a bustling place with bars and cafes . Supermarkets near as well . It's about 2 and a quarter mile into edinburgh ,its a nice walk . Cant fault the apartment at all . Really enjoyed our stay here. The location is superb and the apartment has everything you need. There are lots of good pubs and restaurants in walking distance and a sainsburys local 5 minutes awa. Both Leith and Edinburgh have lots of things to do but there is a lot of walking involved. The bus service is very good and cheap. Unfortunately half ofRead more the area is dug up at present as the council extend the tram network and there are major traffic problems so I would not recommend driving too much. Hide

There is an easily accessible frequent bus service into Edinburgh, about a 10 mins ride, or you can walk along the Water Of Leith walkway, which is on the doorstep, roughly an hours walk. I really enjoyed our stay. The bed is a little small for a double bed, not many hangers for hanging wet clothes upon return, location is approximately 2 1/2 miles from Edinburgh centre with walks and cycle routes to the centre. very good overall.

A fantastic property in a great location on the waterfront in Leith. A 20 minute walk into the city but with plenty of pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. A safe and secure property with a friendly and helpful owner. Smooth check in and everything we needed for our stay. Perfect location - bus stop to city 3 minutes away. Some lovely walks along the Waters of Leith. Supermarkets and restaurants just a short walk away. Cottage had everything we could need and we had a really good holiday.

This was an excellent place to stay. It was just like someone's home. It was spotless and the owner had thought of everything and it was well stocked with cleaning equipment and other essentials. The area where the flat is fantastic---lots of friendly pubs and cafes that love dogs- good walking and transportation links and lots of wildlife to see iRead moren the waters of Leith.
