This attractive property is positioned in the pretty main square of the village of Hawkshead, within walking distance of amenities and attractions. The village is proud of its heritage and links to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, and in the village is the National Trust’s Beatrix Potter Gallery. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both within a short drive of the property and offer plenty of opportunities for boat rides, water sports and scenic walks. Grizedale Forest is also a short drive south of the village with stunning walks, sculpture trail and Segway hire . The real bonus of this cottage is that you can explore the pretty cobbled yards of the village and surrounding countryside without using the car.

Access this property via the black wooden gates off the main square, and into the shared courtyard. Step into the porch, on your left as you enter the courtyard. Once through the porch, you will find yourself in the welcoming open-plan lounge/diner with some lovely original features, fireplace with wood burner, Smart TV and comfy leather sofa and armchair. The dining area is spacious and has a window side dining table with seating for four. The bright kitchen offers everything that guests will need to prepare their favourite meals, including an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave and dishwasher. The cottage style staircase with steep narrow steps lead up to the first floor, to the spacious and romantic double bedroom. On the landing at the top of the stairs, is a bright bathroom with roll-top bath and WC.

Outside the property is a shared courtyard where you can sit at your private seating and enjoy your morning coffee.

Lovely little cottage in the most perfect location. Comfortable and perfectly equipped with everything you would need. The owner was fabulous and super helpful definitely contact him to say hello. A brilliant, cosy cottage to return to after a day out walking. Fire worked a treat to warm up place quickly. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, a kitchen that made it easy to cook our meals in. Always hot water, and the location was great. We did a walk from the house and the other days a short drive to Coniston/ Ambleside gave us the most woRead morenderful walks. Lovely property ever thing you need for a comfortable stay. Lots of walks from the front door which makes such a great change from having to drive everywhere. Really friendly local people and great food to be had at all the establishments we tried, definitely recommended.

Lovely little hideaway for two, in the heart of the village. A real home from home with everything we could have hoped for in a holiday cottage. Very convenient for eating out or self catering. Great walking from the door or just a short drive away.

a great cottage in a great location, the bathroom arrangement was not to my liking (bath only) but it was a small set back. the washing machine in the kitchen was not working and as it was a walking holiday this meant a lot of messy hand washing. but overall it was a very pleasant stay in a lovely cottage.

Great location, lovely walks from the door. The little outdoor courtyard was great as the weather was warm. No issues with parking, easy to unload etc outside and main car park only a v short walk away.

Lovely, quaint cottage which is wonderfully located. The village has a lot to offer with several Coffee shops and 3 good pubs, all serving food. The cottage is well equipped, with many little extras you dont get in other self catering offerings. Only down side is the bathing facilities- the bathroom is lovely and normally a hand held shower wouldntRead more bother me to use, however the very low water pressure struggled to cope with washing out shampoo (I do have thick shoulder length hair). Lovely cottage in a great location. As with most old cottages the beams are very low and the taller person may get a few bumps.
