This charming period cottage with characterful exposed stone walls boasts an enclosed courtyard with al fresco dining areas and a matured walled garden to enjoy.

The cottage is nestled in a peaceful position in the heart of the former Royal Burgh of Lauder. Here you’ll find the magnificent Thirlestane Castle that hosts an array of fantastic events throughout the year including open-air theatre shows, art exhibitions, a vintage festival of motoring perfect for classic car enthusiasts, and The Tour de Lauder. The town boasts an excellent range of independent and bespoke shops, art galleries, award-winning eateries, friendly inns and a lovely golf course. The immediate area is a walkers and bikers paradise with direct routes on the Southern Upland Way and the Lammermuir Hills to explore. Fishermen will be delighted with the nearby River Leader and River Tweed which are renowned for their excellent salmon and trout fishing.

Step inside this delightful period cottage from the enclosed courtyard into the hall, where you can kick off your shoes and hang up your outdoor clothing. Through to the open-plan kitchen/dining room, you can look forward to cooking up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen with an electric range oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Relax in the comfortable dining area and enjoy romantic meals and perhaps watch a movie on the Smart TV. Heading up the stairs, you will find the light and bright king-size bedroom with a seating area and Smart TV. This is the perfect place to unwind after a day out exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Finally, completing this charming cottage is the shower room with shower and WC.

Venturing outside, there is an enclosed courtyard with a seating area and gas BBQ for al fresco dining or a lazy evening stargazing. There is also a spacious and mature walled garden that is shared with the owners. Roadside parking and public car parks are within walking distance (subject to availability).

Nice wee cosy cottage very compact great location for walks and exploring had everything we needed and lovely garden to sit in when the sun comes out chippy right next door and 2 local pubs and a bakery great walks for your four legged friend as well

Lovely quirky little cottage, absolutely amazing garden for the dog, she loved it and nice to have little visits from Luther. Lovely wee cottage and the owners have thought of everything you and our dog could possibly need! Our dog Loved it as much as us with its big secure garden and a bag of treats. Be aware that access and parking is on a main road but parking is plentiful so wasnt an issue for us. Once youre in the secure gate you would never know! Lovely stay in this little quirky cottage. It was cosy clean & comfortable. Great enclosed garden perfect for our little dog. The owners made us feel very welcome and were on hand should we require anything.

Lovely cottage with all you could ask for. The enclosed garden is fantastic. The location is great for exploring the area. Nice walks around Lauder, however not very well signposted. There are a couple of dog friendly pubs, butcher's, bakery and a couple of shops. Al in all we had a very nice stay.

Loved the cottage. Opened the door with a bucket of treats and towels etc. for Humphrey. We spent a lot of our time outside in the wonderful garden having lunch etc Humphrey is 100 % blind now but it dilnt take him long to find his way around the garden. He loved the space not too many bumps. We loved it, and so did Humphrey the bassett hound. WoulRead mored go back again. Hide
