This lovely apartment is one of four cottages contained in an old barn on the owner’s former farm. There are plenty of walks on the doorstep, including to Ullock Pike (3 miles) and Dodd Wood (1.5 miles), or more leisurely walks around Bassenthwaite Lake (4 miles) where you may see ospreys nesting and spawning Atlantic salmon. In Bassenthwaite itself (1.5 miles) you’ll find a pub that serves food and real ale, or head to Keswick (6 miles) where there is a wider choice to suit all tastes. Take a tour around the Lakes Distillery (3.5 miles) and taste the produce to decide which ones to stock up on to take home.
Stairs lead up to this first-floor cottage where you’re greeted by an open-plan living area. Vaulted, beamed ceilings ensure lots of light floods in, but draw the curtains at night and turn on the electric fire and it becomes a cosy haven to curl up in on the sofas. The kitchen area has a quaint, contemporary style with everything you need to cook up hearty meals to keep you going all day and a wooden table to dine at. Enjoy stunning fell views from almost all of the windows including the spacious double bedroom which has a beautiful, exposed beam and peaceful decor. Opposite the bedroom is a bright, contemporary bathroom with walk-in shower.
Outside, the large, shared garden is perfect for whiling away the afternoons; sit on the patio or wander the lawns. There is off-road parking for one car in the courtyard near the property.
