Positioned on the brink of the Lake District National Park with the pleasant Loweswater just 4 miles away, this property offers the perfect chance for exploring Cumbria’s dramatic landscapes and appreciating its unbeatable scenery. Step outside to explore walks on Blake Fell (3 miles) or Grassmoor (7.5 miles), making sure to stop off at Crummock Water (6.5 miles) for a waterside picnic or dog walk. A bustling hub in rural Cumbria is the nearby town of Cockermouth (8 miles), a handy spot for local amenities that also offers tourist attractions including the birthplace of William Wordsworth. And of course, the coastline lies only 8 miles away with Whitehaven’s beautiful Marina and historic Rum Story museum lie waiting to be explored.

Boasting a beautiful white-washed façade, this end of terrace property is a bright and cheerful holiday home that’s bubbling with character. Step inside to find a spacious ground floor with stone flagged flooring in the kitchen and authentic wooden beams throughout. On first arrival you’re greeted by a handsome dining room with feature fireplace and sturdy oak dining set. From here you can head right to find a cosy lounge, the perfect spot for evenings in. The lounge has been lovingly presented with a wood burner for colder evenings along with a Smart TV offering plenty of entertainment. Completing the ground floor is a contemporary kitchen space which has been updated with electric oven and hob, fridge, table top freezer and microwave. Head back into the dining room to find a curved staircase tucked behind a farmhouse style wooden door. The first-floor features two cheerful bedrooms. The first of which is a master double with pretty views from the bedroom window, whilst the second bedroom is a triple room with bunkbed and additional single bed, the ideal sleepover spot for younger guests! Finally, a bright and generous bathroom with WC and shower over bathroom provides you with all you need throughout your stay.

Exit the house via the front door, cross over the quiet country lane and find a private garden that’s completely enclosed. Perfect for letting children or pets run around, this grassy space features a garden bench for relaxing with a morning coffee or something stronger in the evening.

Very comfortable, spacious cottage. Well equipped kitchen & lovely log-burner in the sitting room. Plentty of space for our family of 5.

The cottage was delightful. We arrived soaking wet with two dogs in the middle of a thunderstorm so first impressions weren't great But once we had switched the lights and heating on (in July....) we could not have been more pleased and sat down for a deserving glass of wine. The cottage had everything you could possible want down to oven gloves anRead mored trays, etc. And the tea/coffee/biscuits were very welcoming. Absolutely loved our break here. Originally booked in at another cottage in the south lakes but had to change last minute due to an issue at the one we had booked. Glad we didnt miss out. The north lakes are stunning, would recommend Ennerdale (10 mins away) and Buttermere (20mins). Lots of walks from the doorstep and the enclosed garden was perfecRead moret for our 2 double doodles. This cottage was a lovely find. The surrounding area was beautiful and great for dog walks. The cottage was so clean. With the log burner going in the evening we were so cosy. One of our best holidays as the cottage was a joy to return to each day.

We would happily come back to Lund cottage in the future as we have relatives who live within walking distance, but it was well suited for visits to tourist venues as well

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage, and we would love to stay again. The cottage was plenty big enough for us as a family of 5 with a dog too. Spacious, but cosy too. Lovely and clean, and everything you need is there. Great location for exploring the Lake District too.

Roomy, comfortable cottage with everything you need for your stay. The cottage was very clean and welcoming and the milk, cookies and tea tray on arrival were much appreciated after a long journey. the rooms are large for a hoilday cottage (especially the bathroom!) with plenty of space to spread out. We had a great time at lund cottage, a relaxing stay, if you just want to get away. Definitely value for money and the little extras make a lovely touch (tea,coffee,sugar,biscuits) also milk in the fridge and loo rolls. Would highly recommend, Cockermouth is only a 15 min drive, if you are happy to drive places then this is a great place to go. VerRead morey clean, gorgeous cottage and garden right out the front. Clean and comfortable but the cottage was tired and could do with being updated in areas. We have spent the last 12 years staying in various cottages each year in the lakes and this was probably one of three we wouldnt go back to.
