This beautiful cottage enjoys an enviable position in a peaceful riverside location, yet lies right in the heart of the bustling village of Holmfirth.

Tucked away in the heart of Holmfirth, this property is adjacent to the river and just a short stroll from the many quirky shops, bars and restaurants of the village. Made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine TV series, the popular show's exhibition is on the same lane as this quaint cottage. Watch a show at the Picturedrome or book a wine tasting tour at Holmfirth's own vineyard. Surrounded by stunning scenery, the area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with both the Peak District National Park and Pennine Way on the doorstep, so walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice. Cawthorne Antique Centre, The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Chatsworth House, Wentworth Castle and the Hepworth Gallery are all just a short drive away and all worth a visit.

Kick off your walking boots as you enter this lovely cottage and get ready to fully relax within the cosy lounge/diner, elevated by exposed stone walls and traditional flagstone floor. An original fireplace adorned with electric wood burner-effect fire is an attractive focal point, where you can unwind on the comfortable sofas and watch a movie on the Smart TV. A quaint dining table resting at the side of the room is the ideal place to settle down for dinner and make a toast to a wonderful holiday. A quirky low and narrow doorway leads through to a compact kitchen full of character, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Upstairs, you will find a bright and spacious king-size bedroom that is sure to provide an excellent night’s sleep. To complete this delightful dwelling is an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.

To the front of the cottage is a small patio area with a bistro table where you can relax with a drink at the end of a summer evening and listen to the sound of the river bubbling by. Roadside parking is available nearby (subject to availability). Further parking is available at nearby car parks, charges apply.

A great place to stay, close to the river (you can hear the sounds at night and in the morning) and an easy stretch in to the village in a few minutes walk. The cottage is cosy, it has all the necessary equipment in the kitchen, a lovely bedroom with a very comfy bed and the neighbours are all friendly and welcoming. This is a well appointed and comfortable cottage; very close to the busy centre of the town, but in a peaceful location on a quiet track next to the river. There is no parking provided, but on-street parking is usually available quite close by. We have just had a really lovely holiday in this cottage. Jean the owner was really lovely to speak to on the phone and really helpful. The cottage is beautiful, lot's of thought been put into all the extras you may need. The bed was just so comfy. The welcome pack was the most generous we have ever had. Lovely small cottage in a perfect location, right in the centre of the town but far enough away from the pubs and restaurants for a good night's sleep. The owner of this cottage went above and beyond and provided so many little touches that most cottage rentals do not. It was a fabulous little cottage with quality furniture and so well appointed. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more and was well designed to make the most of the space. Beautiful cottage in a great location in the middle of Holmfirth, parking was easy to find and not too far away, its the extra touches added by the owners that made it a real pleasure to stay here.

The cottage was prefect there was even a Christmas tree with lights and decorations on. I manage to cook a very good Christmas dinner on the cooker no problem I order the food from Sainsburys before we left home to be delivered again no problem. bed was very comfortable and immaculately clean. We had a fabulous stay in the cottage just before Christmas. Jean left a lovely welcome pack which was hugely appreciated...... particularly the wine! The cottage was very cosy and central to all the fantastic restaurants and bars in holmfirth. The kitchen was very well equipped and the cottage was beautiful decorated. We will definitely return!

Lovely cottage, very well situated. Well equipped. The kitchen, though tiny, has all we needed, though it has no room for a dishwasher. Nice neighbours, very friendly.

The cottage is well equipped, very cosy, it is very compact in the kitchen so really only enough room for one person at a time. Lovely and cool in lounge which was a saving grace as it was so hot the week we were there. Lovely location, completely ideal for local walks. Lovely little cottage in a central but quiet, picturesque location by the river in Holmfirth. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Equipped with everything you need for the perfect stay. Had a lovely break in a lovely location. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable. Lots of places to eat and drink in Holmfirth and surrounding area and so many pretty places to go and walk.

We had a lovely week at Waterside cottage, very peaceful yet very close to the centre of Holmfirth. The cottage is very cozy, clean and well equipped. Good choice of pubs and restaurants in Holmfirth. Plenty of scenic walks within easy reach.

Lovely comfortable homely cottage. It was made extra special for us because of all the snow. We stayed local and walked within the town and outlying footpaths. A real break from our working lives.

It was a fabulous location (once we found it - as arriving in the dark didn't help ha!). Lots of lovely shops, bars and restaurants, more going on than we realised - all walkable distance from the property. Some noise from next door/upstairs neighbor so unable to have a 'lie in' but wasn't super early. Few cobwebs and one glass had a mark on it butRead more otherwise clean.
