Use this property as a comfortable place to base yourself when visiting the area. Relax with good company is the social open-plan living space and walk into town for memorable nights out.

Surrounded by a vast network of footpaths and quiet cycling lanes Wirksworth boasts nearby popular destination Carsington Water (4 miles). With its excellent visitor centre, walking and cycling routes around the lake and great opportunities for water sports, it makes for a fabulous day out. From independent eateries, shops, and a stylish art house cinema, there is so much to explore on your doorstep. Another of the town’s unique attractions is the National Stone Centre (1.4 miles), which offers activities such as gem-panning and fossil-casting. There is even a traditional steam railway, complete with Victorian station cafe. Bakewell, Ashbourne, Dovedale, Matlock Bath (home to Gullivers Kingdom Theme Park), Chatsworth, and Haddon Hall are all within 12 miles.

From the external steps outside, head in and pop on your complimentary slippers and wander through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which offers everything you need to rustle up a good meal during your stay including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Plan your days activities ahead or enjoy a celebration meal at the nearby dining table. Get comfy in the lounge in front of the Smart TV, enjoy some competitive fun on the retro arcade games machine, or just curl up with a good book. The sofa doubles up as a sofa bed which is perfect for the little ones and there is a handy downstairs WC. There is a small bedroom on the ground floor offering small bunk beds perfect for kids. Head upstairs to the inviting bedroom where you will be sure to get a good night’s rest. There is a double bed, stylish complimenting furniture and a picture window with lovely views. Head through to the luxurious bathroom with shower and WC.

Outside there is bench seating to relax and enjoy the view. Guests have access to a shared utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is off-road parking for 1 car.

Lovely stay, beautiful cottage, really well decorated. The hamper on arrival was a great touch! Will definitely be back again, the location waa great with easy access to Black Rocks, Abraham Heights, Gullivers Kingdom and 25 minute drive from Bakewell.

Parking can be challenging. Wirksworth is nice, co-op is really handy. Not much in the way of other shops. A good base to go exploring from. Perfectly proportioned cottage with excellent wi-fi

Brilliant stay in a fabulous property. Everything has been considered for a truly relaxing stay. An excellent base for exploring the dales. The arrival basket of goodies was a very well received and a really thoughtful touch. Thanks so much. Highly recommended and we ourselves hope to return.

I am glad we opted for holidaycottages.co.uk. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. The experience was nothing less than staying in a 4 star hotel.
