This inviting cottage offers access to nearby Alnwick and Rothbury, walking and cycling routes. It is just over a mile from Thrunton Woods for beautiful woodland walks to Thrunton Crag and less than a mile from fly fishing at two picturesque, spring-fed lakes. Visit Cragside House and Gardens in nearby Rothbury for river walks, cycling trails, the Simonside Hills and a great choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. The market town of Alnwick (within 9 miles) boasts Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Bailiffgate Museum, the theatre/cinema and plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants. For a beach day or a round of golf on the scenic golf course, head to nearby Alnmouth (13 miles) with lovely eateries and shops.

Step into the bright hallway of this welcoming cottage and head through to the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with views of Thrunton Woods and French doors leading out to a patio area. There is wood flooring throughout and the lounge has comfortable seating to relax on after days out exploring the area. Settle back with a good book or find a popular film to watch on the TV after dinner. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare a feast, and once cooked, enjoy the meal together around the dining table. The two attractively furnished bedrooms are just off the hallway; one with a king-size bed with French doors leading to the rear patio, and a twin room with views of the front garden. There is a separate room for hanging outdoor wear along with a small desk and chair. The family charming bathroom completes the accommodation.

Outside, there is an enclosed, lawned garden to the front with garden furniture where you can enjoy al fresco dining and a swing seat to relax on. The patio area at the rear comes with a bistro table and chairs for morning coffee and there is a bike store to the side of the property. There is also a large, shared lawn area with a swing seat.

Lovely cottage and we found it very peaceful, despite the busy A697 road. Having had problems with location of another cottage due to very loud bird scarers in the adjacent fields, it was a relief that the baby girls at this one contained sheep and cattle, so no loud bangs to terrify our dog. The small enclosed garden was perfect for allowing the dRead moreog some sniffy outside time, and there are so many lovely places a short drive away to go for long walks. Hide

Lovely accommodation. Very comfortable and warm. Great location for exploring beautiful Northumberland countryside and coast. Located on the A679 there isn't the opportunity to walk out directly from the cottage. Every outing means driving. I would recommend, but not if you need to dog walk, especially in the evening. Very comfortable stay and just what we needed going away with our two dogs. The cottage was well equipped and cosy, nice and peaceful and in a good location for what we needed but perhaps not the best location for people wanting to walk straight out as it was quite remote, not an issue for us though. This cottage is small but well equipped, clean, with a nice, small, enclosed garden for our dogs. Very comfortable bed in bedroom to the back of the cottage which was very quiet. Good location for visiting local towns, villages, attractions.

A really lovely cottage. Photos don't do it justice. It's very clean and has views to die for, front and back and it's very quiet and restful at night. Owners are considerate,one small problem was put right immediately. Very comfy beds and tasteful design. The countryside location made up for the sea not being close by. However as Alnwick is a shorRead moret drive it's worth going shopping !!! Location is good for visiting other towns and Castles galore!! Our 8 year old granddaughter loved it !!! Hide
