Perfect for couples, small families and friends wanting a rural getaway, set deep in the Peak District National Park, surrounded by rolling countryside and situated next to the owner's home. Explore the wildlife, and local crafts such as pottery, painting and furniture making. Spend a day at The Roaches, approximately 7 miles away, a prominent rocky ridge above Leek – take the walk to the top and enjoy the stunning views of Tittesworth Reservoir, or follow the old pack horse trails across the moors. Bring your bike for cycling and touring the many farm tracks and sample the food and drink to be had in the traditional old pubs. The spa town of Buxton is within 10 miles and offers independent shops, cafes, museums, galleries, and the famous opera house which hosts events throughout the year. Chatsworth House and Gardens, and Alton Towers for the young at heart are both within 16 miles.

Step into the open-plan living space which is great to keep all of the family together when relaxing, cook up a hearty breakfast in the kitchen, come together around the dining table, and put your feet up by the Smart TV on the comfy sofas at the end of the day. Open the stable door and let the air in during the warmer months. The cottage also benefits from a useful downstairs WC. Head upstairs to find two pretty bedrooms, the double bedroom offering a Smart TV and wonderful views over the surrounding countryside, and a single sofa bed which is perfect for little ones. The second bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, which can be made up as twin beds if required, with a skylight window set into the eaves bringing in lots of light. Both bedrooms are served by the nearby shower room to get you ready for the day's adventures ahead.

Outside, there is a patio with seating and charcoal BBQ, surrounded by a lawned area and two wildlife ponds.

The Bothy in Brund was a lovely place to stay as a place to explore the local area. The Dove Valley and Manifold Trail are nearby and offer spectacular walks and cycle routes. Buxton is not too far and well worth a visit. The Bothy itself provides comfortable accommodation with beautiful outlooks. There is ample parking for two cars. We would recomRead moremend the Bothy as the ideal centre to explore this part of the Peaks. Hide

Very peaceful location but all trails easily accessible and walking/cycling from the front door. Terrific open views. Very well appointed, warm and a great shower! The use of secure storage for bikes and availability of a washing machine/dryer much appreciated. Highly recommended!
