Alyth is a charming town located in the county of Perth and Kinross. It sits on the southern edge of the Scottish Highlands. One of the notable attractions is "The Den of Alyth," a picturesque woodland area located at the bottom of the drive. It offers peaceful walking trails along the Alyth Burn, providing a tranquil escape for visitors. It is a great spot for nature walks and birdwatching. Mountain biking, walking, and climbing are popular activities in and around the area, with the Angus Glens of Clova, Isla and Prosen accessible within 30 miles. The Cateran Trail is a 103km circular walk through spectacular countryside that passes just above the cottage. The historic towns of Dunkeld (17 miles) and Pitlochry (26 miles) are well worth a visit during your stay. Glamis Castle is located about 10 miles away and is one of Scotland's most iconic castles.

Nestled in a serene location, this charming Grade B listed property forms a wing of a magnificent country house, allegedly the last mansion house built in Scotland.  It offers the perfect retreat to relax and unwind and you can be rest assured peace and privacy within its beautiful grounds.  With ample space and thoughtful design, you will have all the room you need to make yourself at home. Spot the red squirrels who come and visit the squirrel feeder outside the window, knowing the feeder is always kept topped up. The spacious sitting room is a welcoming retreat, boasting a wood-burning stove that adds both warmth and ambiance to the space. For your entertainment, there is a smart TV to enjoy your favourite shows and movies. Adjacent to the sitting room, there is a snug area, featuring a comfortable sofa that can be converted into a double sofa bed upon request. This snug also offers a Freeview TV and a convenient writing desk, providing a quiet corner to relax or catch up on work. Upstairs, a hallway leads to the bedrooms, while a charming winding staircase adds character to the space. The upstairs area houses the bedrooms and a bathroom, ensuring a comfortable and restful stay for all guests. We had a lovely comfortable stay at Cateran Cottage in March 24. It was spotlessly clean and very warm. The additional touches in the Cottage made it a real home from home and the hosts Liz and Charlie couldnt have been more accommodating.
