This delightful, one-bedroom apartment is the perfect base for an immersive, relaxing holiday right at the water’s edge in beguiling St Ives. Water sports enthusiasts will find themselves spoiled for choice with paddleboarding, kayaking and coasteering right on the doorstep at popular Porthminster Beach, nature lovers will spend happy hours spotting seals, dolphins and seabirds out at Clodgy Point and along the South West Coast Path, and for the less energetic, a boat tour sea safari around the beautiful Cornish coastline is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Whatever form fun takes, the sea air will doubtless whip up a hearty appetite; St Ives’ huge range of cafes, bars, bistros and restaurants offer something for everyone.

Tucked away on a quiet street just south of the town harbour, this first-floor apartment is accessed via a shared hallway and one flight of stairs. An open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a cheerful place to relax after a busy day sightseeing – there’s a comfortable sofa area, a bistro-style dining table and chairs positioned by a window to make the most of uninterrupted sea views, and a contemporary fitted kitchen area which has its own window with the same terrific sea views. A cosy double bedroom and a shower room complete the accommodation.

The shallow, calm waters of nearby Porthminster Beach (200 metres) make it a favourite with sea swimmers. Whether a morning dip, an evening reviver, or perhaps simply watching others take to the water while enjoying a coffee, experience this lovely beach at its quietest times of day for a moment of pure escape.

I had a previous booking cancelled at the last minute and was offered the dolphin as a substitute. I must say I was absolutely delighted with the cottage. The views from the living room/dinning area cannot be beaten. You has views of the rocks below where you could watch the tide come and go. Listening to the sea was so relaxing. The views extend rRead moreound to the harbour but also across to the Godrevy Light house and other beaches. Not only that you are just a minutes walk to Porthminster beach and very close to the harbour two. The cottage is quite small but perfect for a single person or couple. There wouldnt be room for a child I dont think. There was everything in the kitchen you could need to make breakfast and evening meals. Even salt pepper and olive oil was left behind! The shower warmed up immediately and I would warn the taps get very hot very quickly as well. The owners have made good use of the space meaning there was an ironing board that was discreetly hidden next to the fridge for example. I have spinal issues and found the bed to be very comfortable. A very pleasant and relaxing week where if you didnt feel like going out you wasnt missing out on the sea air and views. Hide

Be careful with Sat Nav and try to avoid driving down The Warren as it's very tight. My advice is to park in the Station car park and then unload your things using the steps from the car park down to the Pedn Olva hotel which is right next door to the apartment block.

Location was fantastic and we even managed to see some seals. The apartment was quite dated and the shower didnt look as if it had been cleaned as it had hair in it. There was no way to put the refuse in the outside bins as none of the keys worked. Otherwise we liked being there and really enjoyed our stay in St Ives.

1. WI-FI code was incorrect on WiFi box should have been a lower case c not C 2. No information given about disposing of rubbish and the guide said there was a padlock key. After enquiring I was given a padlock code but took me three attempts to discover a rod on the padlock had to be pushed in to release the lock. 3. The shower in the apartmentRead more above mine leaked over my shower which was not pleasant . I did not want to shower whilst this was dripping over me. This spoilt my holiday and I would like to come back next year. I did notify the office about the problem but they said it was just unfortunate. It is very apparent this has been an issue as the ceiling is discoloured and is obviously an ongoing problem which should be compensated for. I think leaving a deposit should work from both sides of the agreement. Hide
