An ideal retreat for couples, this beautifully re-imagined former smithy lies in the grounds of the owner’s farmhouse, close to the banks of the River Rawthay. The property is surrounded by idyllic farmland and glorious countryside, offering miles of tranquil walks and bike trails. To the west, the popular town of Sedbergh (1 mile) has a range of independent shops, traditional pubs and historic buildings, with a marketplace dating back to the 13th century. Walkers can head south through the stunning valley of Dentdale to the charming village of Dent (6.5 miles), home to the fascinating Dent Village Heritage Centre and Museum, and a stop along the famous Settle to Carlisle railway line.
Entering this cheery single-storey retreat, the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a relaxing space for you to get together and unwind after a great day out. The fresh and inviting lounge features a Smart TV, a wood-burning set in a handsome stone surround, and a comfortable sofa. To one side, there’s a small dining table perfect for romantic meals for two, and the kitchen has ample equipment and storage space. Exploring further, you will find a comfortable king-size bedroom alongside a refreshing shower room. Overall, this is a wonderful cottage for a lovely, relaxed, rural break.
Heading outside, the patio is furnished, and enclosed by drystone walling, making a lovely spot for sitting back, dining alfresco or taking a dip in the hot tub as you look out across the farm and enjoy the views of the surrounding fields and local residents including cattle, donkeys and sheep. There’s also a handy shared washing/drying room with a dog shower. Parking for one car can be found on the shared driveway. Please note that friendly farm dogs and chickens roam freely across the grounds of the smallholding. Please note this property does not accept children.
