We had a wonderful quiet long weekend here over May bank holiday. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very yummy cream tea, which was perfect after driving down. The cottage was clean and well presented and the garden was a great sun trap to relax in after a walk. There was a lot of useful information available to help plan your stay and guide youRead more around the local area. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Hide

Cottage was exactly what we wanted, very dog friendly, ideal location. Cottage was very cosy, clean and tidy with a lovely enclosed outdoor space and added bonus of a field to exercise our dog in

Tranquil cottage tucked away in a valley, next to a stream. The Tarka Trail is 400m with good bike riding south to Meeth (impacted grit) and north to Bideford (on tarmac). The owner was very friendly, lives next door and greeted us with a cream tea. Warm with good furniture, newly decorated bedroom. For clarification its FreeSat not Sky TV.

Plan you day around eating out elsewhere, Puffing Billy and Fremington Quay cafes recommended. Beaches at Instow and Westward Ho! excellent and nearby.

If you like peace and quiet and easy access to the Tarka Trail, this is a great place to be. You do have to walk or cycle on a country lane to reach it though but just watch out for cars and it's just 5 minutes. The garden at the back is a nice sun trap.
