This detached bungalow is located just one mile from the seaside town of Bude. The town is deservedly popular with visitors to the region, thanks to its numerous beaches, each with its own character. Summerleaze Beach, the closest to the town centre, has a wide expanse of sand, as well as a tidal pool which allows safe bathing whatever the conditions at sea. Just three miles along the coast, Widemouth Bay is also a sandy beach, but, being more exposed, is a popular destination for surfers. There is a surf academy here for those who would like to try their hand for the first time. Besides beaches, visitors will also find a range of shops, cafes and bars in the town, as well as mini-golf, pleasure boats and tennis courts.

On entering this single-storey property, guests will discover the lounge with its feature fireplace, TV, DVD and French doors which open onto the garden and give the room beautiful views across the countryside. The separate dining room has a second TV with additional seating and access through to the kitchen, via two steps. Here guests will find the electric oven and hob, fridge, and microwave, whilst the freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the external utility room. The property has two bedrooms: a double and a twin. Another small step leads guests to the bathroom, with its shower over bath and WC.

Outside, the property really comes into its own. A rarity for a holiday cottage of this type, this property has a large, enclosed garden which will be a real joy for children who love to run around and also for those who just like to relax outside and enjoy the views over the surrounding countryside. There is seating and a table on the lawn, which makes this a great place to enjoy a relaxing alfresco lunch.

We have stayed in this bungalow a few times but this time it wasn't as clean as it has been there was cobwebs everywhere, it is in a fabulous position we had a super time would go again if it was thoroughly cleaned

Basic accommodation, I think the cottage needs new fixtures and fittings. Only one bedside table, Sofa on its last legs, cutlery from the 1980's and a musty smell throughout. I think we paid too much considering what we got. The main issue we had was the field at the end of the garden is now housing a barn and caravan which is frequented by kids haRead moreving parties on a night time so no countryside views or peace. The cottage is situated in a quiet road pretty much on its own with a large garden and ample parking area. We found the cottage clean and fresh with plenty of equipment to make our stay comfortable. Very nice views to the west from the garden, lounge and dining room. Nice being greeted with a bottle of wine to. We had an enjoyable stay at Annes Retreat. Clean and comfortable accommodation. A nice location if you want peace and quiet in a rural setting, but yet still very very close to the centre of Bude. The owners are very helpful and acted quickly to resolve an issue which arose during our stay.

Love this little treasure of a cottage. Ive had two family holidays there and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful location, beautiful views that surround the cottage. Clean and well presented, also has a lovely garden. The owners are also very helpful. Just to add, it is a short walk along the Bude canal if you want to walk into town.

Lovely bungalow very clean & well equipped can see for miles and very peaceful , owner was very helpful prior to our holiday , lovely walk about 20 mins into bude by the nature reserve & the river.
