Head 1.5 miles into nearby Audlem which offers a host of independent shops and eateries, a mill, and a church to explore. A mile outside is the Overwater Marina with mooring for over 200 narrowboats and is reached by foot or, at weekends and Bank Holidays, by Audlem Lass, which cruises the canal from Lock 15 to the marina. There’s a cafe there too for refreshment and lunches. A little further afield are the market towns of Chester and Shrewsbury, and the city of Stoke-on-Trent (all within 27 miles) providing charm and culture with lots to see and do.
