Thoughtfully styled property for two is set in the centre of the beautiful village of Hawkshead, with easy access to Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, making this an ideal base for exploring.

This attractive property is positioned in the pretty main square of the village of Hawkshead, within walking distance of amenities and attractions. The village is proud of its heritage and links to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, and in the village is the National Trust’s Beatrix Potter Gallery. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both within a short drive of the property and offer plenty of opportunities for boat rides, water sports and scenic walks. Grizedale Forest is also a short drive south of the village with stunning walks, sculpture trail, Segway hire and a Go-Ape climbing centre for those feeling brave. The real bonus of this cottage is that you can explore the pretty cobbled yards of the village and surrounding countryside without using the car.

Access this property via the black wooden gates off the main square, and into the shared courtyard. Step into the porch, on your left as you enter the courtyard. Once through the porch, you will find yourself in the welcoming open-plan lounge/diner with some lovely original features, fireplace with wood burner, TV/DVD and comfy leather sofa and armchair. The dining area is spacious and has a window side dining table with seating for four. The bright kitchen offers everything that guests will need to prepare their favourite meals, including an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave and dishwasher. The cottage style staircase with steep narrow steps lead up to the first floor, to the spacious and romantic king-size bedroom. On the landing at the top of the stairs, is a bright bathroom with roll-top bath and WC.

Outside the property is a shared courtyard where you can sit at your private seating and enjoy your morning coffee. There is parking available in the village’s main car park, a permit will be provided for one car.
