One of the five Angus valleys, Glen Clova is an area full of natural beauty, spectacular landscapes and diverse wildlife. Red deer, red squirrels and golden eagles can often be spotted in the tranquil valley, making this the ideal destination for wildlife enthusiasts. From your lodge, enjoy leisurely nature rambles through the stunning landscape, inhaling the scent of the alpine flowers and towering pine trees.

Follow the path to Loch Brandy (2.5 miles) and seek out the perfect picnic spot on its peaceful shores. Try your hand at a spot of trout fishing from the banks (by arrangement) or see if you can catch salmon in the waters of the River Esk. Discover the natural amphitheatre of the Corrie Fee National Nature Reserve (3.5 miles) and take in the sensational views from Mayar and Driesh (3 miles), the two nearest Munros to your lodge.

A year-round destination for outdoor adventures, discover the stunning mountain scenery of Glenshee (43 miles). In the winter, experience the UK’s most extensive ski and snowboard facilities covering over 2,000 acres with 22 lifts and 36 runs. Novices can receive instruction from the well-regarded ski school and there are runs to challenge even the most experienced skier. During summer months, the landscape is transformed into a haven for walkers with leisurely ambles along forest tracks to steep hikes up rugged mountains. For an adrenalin-fuelled experience, head for the chairlift that takes you to the Glenshee Mountain Bike Track and enjoy the challenging descent back down the mountain.
