Part of a former chapel, this three storey house is a spacious retreat for couple or small families alike looking for a coastal retreat, positioned perfectly to explore the South Coast.

Nestling on the beautiful south coast of Cornwall alongside the river Fowey you will find the unspoilt village of Poluran with its village shop, traditional cafe and local pub. From the quaint quayside take a relaxing trip on the passenger ferry to Fowey, explore the village whilst enjoying the shops, restaurants and bars. If you are able to pull yourself away from the village there is so much to see and do from the beautiful coastal path to Lantic Bay then onto Polperro or even Bodinnick where you can catch the ferry back to Fowey and then Polruan. There is always something going on throughout the year from the Fowey regatta to Polruan carnival.

Step into the welcoming hallway on the ground floor and then straight into the well-equipped kitchen/diner with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, and there is a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The breakfast bar is perfect place to plan your day. Open up the doors of the Juliet balcony, sit at the dining table and enjoy your lazy breakfast whilst catching up with the latest news reports on the Smart TV. Heading up to the first floor there are two bedrooms both with plenty of storage. The king-size has double doors opening up to a Juliet balcony with rooftop views onto the river Fowey and an en-suite bathroom with hand-held shower over spa bath and WC, and the second bedroom is a light and bright twin. There’s also a separate shower room with shower and WC. Venture up to the second floor and the light beams into the full length lounge with additional snug area, ideal for children or to relax and read a good book. Listen to music on the sound system or watch your favourite film on the TV/DVD.

Sliding patio doors open up onto the roof terrace with spectacular panoramic views perfect for al fresco dining whilst watching the river life go by. There is the excellent and sought after addition of a parking space for this property.

We absolutely loved our stay in Chapel Retreat! We've stayed in many cottages in Fowey, Pont and Polruan over the years and Chapel Retreat was definitely up there with the best! Everything you could possibly wish for was to hand and it felt like a home from home from the start. We will not hesitate to return. We loved it there!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chapel Retreat. The accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable and the parking space was really useful. The views from the balcony overlooking the estuary were fabulous and we spent many happy hours watching the activity on the water and enjoying the beautiful location. We hope to return.

Well equipped accommodation, gorgeous views, peaceful. The bakery was well worth a visit. Delicious bread, pasties and quiches. Used the local grocery store. Stunning walks around Polruan. Used ferry across to Fowey. Two ferry walk was delightful.

Chapel Retreat is a lovely, quirky house. The views are amazing from all levels. It is very well equipped. Parking space is an absolute bonus in Polruan, a bit tight but we managed to get a Freelander 2 into the space. The walk to the bottom, although steep, is only a short walk to pubs, shops, Ferry, etc.

Lovely views great location. A little dated but over all well equipped. and comfortable. The deck was a great place to chill out. You need to be relatively fit to cope with two flights of stairs, between kitchen and living room but you need to be fit to cope with the hill in Polruan. The parking cannot be guaranteed as it is very very tight, but thRead moree forecourt meant that at least you can load without blocking the road.. We appreciated being able to take our dog. We had a great week. Hide

The view from the terrace wass amazing and the area lovely to explore Car parking was very tight so we parked at the top of the road which was fine The house was pleRead morenty big enough but some areas looked a bit dated and it lacked some basic provisions but would recommend it as the area is beautiful . Views were amazing. Accommodation good, it is over three levels so be prepared for a lot of stairs. We found the parking very tight for our Golf and decided we would rather use the public car park up the hill. They only accept coins so bring plenty. Overall a wonderfully relaxing holiday.

A beautiful house in a wonderful location, well decorated and very well equipped. We loved the upstairs sitting room and outside terrace where we spent many a happy hour. It's also got parking which is a big bonus although the parking space is quite tight and might not suit larger cars (we have a Civic which was OK). The Lugger, a short stroll downRead more the hill, does good food and is very friendly. Dogs are welcome! The local shop and bakery are also very good. Highly recommended! Hide
