Perfect for a couple looking for a base in which to explore both coast and countryside, this charming studio apartment and once a former stable block, provides you with a great location in which to explore everything Essex has to offer. If you’re a fan of nature and wildlife, then the Hamford Water Nature reserve is just under fifteen miles away and offers you a fantastic place in which to spot different species of birds. The property itself is located on the stunning grounds of the owner’s estate as well as being on the fringes of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which offers you some stunning walks for both yourself and your four-legged friend. Other attractions within a fifteen-mile radius include the famous and spectacular Colchester Zoo and the Seaquarium located om the pier at Clacton-on-Sea.

Guests enter the property by the front door and you arrive in an open-plan living/bedroom area. The lounge area has a large sofa and large wall mounted TV and French doors leading to the patio area - sun loungers provided. Should you wish to dine in and relax there is a table and two chairs in the lounge area. The kitchen area has a small combination microwave oven, induction hob,oven and fridge. The bedroom area has a king-size bed with ample wardrobe and storage space and there is a shower room with wash basin and wc.

What a beautiful stay cation, was recommended to me. Have spent two weeks relaxing and enjoying walking in the grounds. It was so quiet could not fault it. The bed was very comfortable, underfloor heating perfect. Would not hesitate to book to come back another time.

Nice place . Clean and comfortable . Unfortunately the underfloor heating was unadequate and we were cold . The information at the property stared the heating was set at 20c but it was 16c when we arrived and never really warm enough for comfort . Despite dialing up the thermostat the temperature never really changed .

Lovely converted stable in a great location for walking and the river Stour. Very quiet location. Friendly and helpful groundskeeper. Very comfortable stay for me and my dog

A very comfortable stay in an excellent location, convenient for buses, trains - and footpaths, including the Essex Way. The information emailed by the owner prior to arrival was comprehensive and very helpful (we particularly appreciated the photographs) and further information provided by Gary during our stay was also very useful. Lovely, well-laid-out accommodation. Comfy king-size bed and huge sofa. Beautiful, peaceful gardens and grounds - our dog Luna had fantastic time chasing rabbits!. Love the diversity of plants, shrubs and fruit trees. Ponds and Reservoir were stunning. Lots within walking distance. Gary the groundsman was very helpful. Accommodation is outstanding , the fit and finish is excellent , everything you need for a short stay , Gary the Groundsman was very helpful , always around if needed , recommended some nice places to visit and eat , as we were only there for 4 nights we couldn't fit too much in but we'll definitely be going back soon .

Such a beautiful location and very well presented, clean accommodation. The site is quiet and private and the parking, very close to the cottage which is convenient. A most suitable location to enjoy sight-seeing, walking and eating out. It is possible to cook meals at the cottage with a good-sized oven, fridge, hob etc, but surface space is limiteRead mored. Be aware, if your mobility is less than ideal, that the seating is on the low side. Would definitely recommend this as a lovely get-away place. Hide

Very nice location.. some wonderful walksjust need to make a bigger sign on entrance way. Fast road at entrance of property difficult to see small sign.
