Fabulous mid-terrace stone cottage just half a mile from Lamlash Bay, with front garden views to Holy Isle. It is surrounded by sublime natural beauty, mystical history and fantastic local food.

Escape the maelstrom of modern life in this sweet island idyll, amidst the green hills and fresh air of Arran. Situated in the lush village of Lamlash, explore the waterside pubs, Octopus Centre (0.5 miles), exclusive boutiques and gothic church. Take to the seas with Ocean Breeze Rib Tours to see porpoises and peregrines and learn the mysteries of Ailsa Craig. Discover Brodick Castle and Gardens and bask on Whiting Bay (both 3.5 miles); Lochranza Castle (18 miles) is a ruined wonder. Conquer Goat Fell (5 miles) for breathtaking views of the island and beyond. See wild Eriskay ponies and Saanen goats, Buddhist rock paintings and the dramatic Pillar Rock Lighthouse on the Holy Isle. Visit the Distillery at Lochanza (14 miles), try kayaking and canoeing between the southern sandy beaches or enjoy a unique round of island golf.

Inside the cottage, you'll find an exquisite mix of rustic comfort, mid-century style and sleek contemporary craftsmanship. Unwind in the cosy lounge with friends or family, and gather around the glowing wood burner for evening reminiscences of thrilling adventures, just spent and yet to come. Prepare sumptuous local seafood in the quaint and retro kitchen/diner. Amidst tranquil white tiles, soak in a steaming bath before ascending the stairs to your bedroom; both are delectable, and the single has a superb picture window on the wild green world of Arran. It's the finishing touches like the wonderful textiles, artworks and artefacts that make this house a home, and these are the things you'll always remember.

Enjoy BBQs in the sunny enclosed garden, with distant vistas of the Holy Isle. Whatever the time of year or weather, there's a lovely ambience surrounding this little row of island cottages by the sea.

What a wonderful place. Perfect for three and not far from main village. Plenty of amenities. We got lucky with the weather. Drying clothes during a wet spell may be tricky. Otherwise, a fabulous, cosy place on a beautiful island with which we fell in love.

Lovely cottage. Well maintained and very comfortable. Only downside for me was lack of a view from downstairs rooms and tricky parking if you have a larger car.

This is a lovely cottage at the edge of Lamlash. There are lovely views from the bedroom windows. We were very comfortable and had most things we needed. The main bedroom is a generous size. The second bedroom is quite small for an adult but fine for a child. Shops etc are within walking distance and Lamlash is a great location for everywhere on thRead moree island. Hide
