A beautiful cottage offering a cosy bolthole for a romantic retreat right near an array of beaches and walks, the perfect place for your holiday.

This property is the perfect base to explore the wonders of South Cumbria with so many great places to visit and see nearby. Head over to the coast which is a short drive away with many beaches to choose from and bask in the amazing views across to Morecambe. The historic coastal town of Barrow-in-Furness is a stone's through away, with plenty of shops, eateries, and bars to choose from and lots of entertainment spots to try. The Lake District is less than a 40-minute drive, with Windermere, Coniston, and Hawkshead all within easy reach with a choice of lakes to enjoy a day out on.

Once you step into this romantic cottage you will instantly feel ready for your holiday. The lounge boasts a cosy wood burner and a Smart TV for watching all your favourite programmes, a sofa and an armchair - the perfect set up for an evening in together. Head on through to the newly refurbished kitchen which has all you need to create a romantic meal for two. There is an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer; there is also a lovely island to enjoy your meal with a glass of wine. On the first floor, find a double bedroom with plenty of built-in storage, and next to this is the bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Finally, there is a small office with a desk and chair for those who want to fire off some emails while away. Head up into the loft where there is a cool snug area with wall-mounted smart TV, perfect for a night in your own den.

Out the front of the cottage is the patio area where you can cosy up and watch the stars. You will find seating and a BBQ to enjoy those lovely warm evenings. Out the back door is a small area that is a great place to drop off those muddy clothes, with a shed housing the washer and dryer. There is on-street parking.

We fell in love with this cottage the moment we arrived! Especially being boxing day and seeing the Christmas tree all lit up in the window ! The film the holiday came to mind , Drinks in the fridge and treats for our little dog was a lovely touch! The cottage was so comfortable, cosy, and so quiet! Gorgeous little cottage so well equipped and cosy . Perfect location for exploring the lake district. Luna our cocker spaniel loved the park across the road. Would definitely recommend this cottage would definitely book again we had a lovely holiday.

Duke cottage was easy to find and parking was right next to the side of the cottage. It was lovely inside but we did move the chest in the living room only because our German Shepherd couldn't manoeuvre around it. It was really hot so the playing field and stream were a great advantage for the dog being only a few yards from the front door. Beautifully decorated, kitchen has every utensil you could ever need to use, comfortable bed, charming small garden in lovely quiet village close to beaches and shops in Burrow (18 mins). Had a lovely week in this warm and comfortable cottage. Everything you could need is provided, including welcome surprises in the fridge for me and the dogs. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lots of interesting and quirky bits on display. The log burner made it even more cosy on the rainy evenings. We couldn't be happier with how the holiday went. We had a great time. Our only comment would be that the road conditions of the surrounding area are awful, flooding, huge pothole, so many potholes.

Amazing cottage! Felt so at home really did not want to leave! Me and my GSD had a fabulous week here and everything you needed was in the property or swiftly provided by Rachael & Mark. Nothing was too much trouble and they checked in every so often to make sure all was ok. Was perfect size for cosy nights in. Was great to have the option to use tRead morehe office when I had work to do and also chillax in the snug room. Location was perfect for going in any direction too! Hope to be back soon! X Hide

Lovely property for a wonderfully relaxing week away. Need to be mindful that shops/pubs etc are a drive away though this was not a problem for us. Also it was great to find milk in the fridge for that first brew on arrival after a long journey and other small touches like the spare toothbrush and treats for the dog and humans alike. The best well equipped cottage we have stayed in. Lovely secluded village if you want peace and tranquility. Good secured patio area for dogs, cottage best for 2 small dogs. Our Scotties loved the little stream walk. Nearby Ulverston a joy to visit with lots of local interesting walks and places to visit.
