Attractive two-bedroomed cottage enjoying a central yet quiet location in the English Riviera town of Brixham, situated just a few metres from the town’s bustling harbour.

This property is located in a traffic-free zone in the harbour town of Brixham, one of three towns clustered around the bay of Torbay in South Devon. The town has a proud maritime history and the harbour is still the thriving centre of the town today, with fishing vessels, tour boats, and the Torquay ferry running to and fro. There are number of beaches in the town, including the quiet St Mary’s Bay, the main Breakwater Beach and Shoalstone with its impressive 53-metre tidal pool. For those who want to find out more about the town’s heritage, there is a wonderfully constructed replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship The Golden Hind moored up at the harbour, offering five decks of hands-on exhibits to explore.

This pretty property makes a lovely cosy seaside retreat and has been thoughtfully styled to offer a wonderful place to stay. On entering the cottage, guests will find themselves in the open-plan living space which has cosy underfloor heating and an attractive beamed ceiling and warming wood burner. The kitchen has been hand-built in reclaimed wood and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, and washing machine, as well as a breakfast bar seating three. The lounge area has a comfy sofa and two easy chairs from which to enjoy the TV and DVD, or spend the evening chatting around the wood burner. Stairs lead to the first floor where the first of the two bedrooms can be found, as well as the bathroom which offers a compact shower-over-bath and WC. This bedroom is a charming double room with a double bed, beamed ceiling, and built-in dressing table and wardrobe. The master bedroom, on the second-floor is a stunning room, with its double bed, sloping ceiling, and French window which opens onto a Juliet balcony offering beautiful views across to the harbour.

Outside, to the front of the property, is an enclosed seating area with a table and chairs, which makes an ideal spot for enjoying alfresco drinks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Warm cosy cottage in a great location. The beds are very comfortable and in late October the cottage was lovely and warm. Perfect base for exploring the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage location couldnt be better- 2 minutes walk to the harbour and most pubs and restaurants. Even though the location was central it was really quiet. We only ate in once but found everything we needed and felt the cottage was very well equipped. The underfloor heating was lovely in a very cold May week! The liviRead moreng space is quite small so perfect for a couple but would be a bit cramped for any more. Also steep stairs so not ideal if any mobility issues. Hide

Cottage is in the perfect location for Brixham, tucked away round the back of the harbour with beautiful views from the top floor window. The cottage was cosy with the benefit of under floor heating which was a luxury! Rooms spacious with plenty of storage. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything needed for a self catering holiday. The staircase is no good if you have small children, also the last few steps up to the cottage are very steep. I struggled with the last lap especially with a very excited dog. We knew there would be difficulty with parking and we had 2 cars coming from different locations. We were advised not long before we left of the arrangements, which was fineRead more. What we weren't advised about was the cost. This ended up costing us an additional 40 each which we hadn't budgeted for. Hide

A lovely cosy cottage, best suited to a couple as there is not a lot of 'living' space. Great location and beautiful views out to the harbour.
