Well positioned for exploring the Brecon Beacons and the Welsh Borders.

The barn which is part of a restored Georgian stable block that has been thoughtfully and sensitively converted to maximise privacy and comfort. It is on the edge of a village, set on an ancient medieval farmstead where there are endless walking trails and cycle rides within easy reach. Hay-on-Wye is the nearest town, just 1.5 miles across the River Wye. Beyond that the cathedral town of Brecon is 12 miles away, a good place for a stop en-route to the larger Beacons and Pen y Fan, the largest peak. The city of Hereford with its impressive Cathedral is 20 miles away. Things to do in the area include walking, cycling, pony trekking and those who prefer to paddle on the water will enjoy the close proximity to the River Wye & River Usk, also a highlight for fishermen. You could also explore the spectacular waterfalls in the National Park and there is also a local gliding centre should you prefer to see the area from the air.

The property has a private enclosed garden, where you will find the entrance to the open plan kitchen and living room. The kitchen is well equipped with shaker style farmhouse cupboards and breakfast bar. There is an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge with icebox compartment. A separate utility room with washing machine and downstairs WC. Relax on the sofas with Welsh woollen blankets and a wood burner to keep you snug at night (there's proper central heating too), smart television, Freeview, DVD player and Wi-Fi. Enjoy dining in the light and stylish dining room, which leads onto the private patio, perfect for al fresco dining with outdoor furniture and barbeque.

Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, a king-size bedroom and a good sized twin bedroom sharing a modern bathroom upstairs with bath, shower, basin and WC.

  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Beautiful location, well appointed and cosy cottage, ideal for exploring Hay and surrounding area. Owners have been super helpful with locating certain items left by us.

Lovely, comfortable cottage. Close to the beautiful town of Hay-on-Wye and the many activities that the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, River Wye and the Brecon canal have to offer.
