This character cottage is situated in a peaceful hamlet within a courtyard of similar style cottages and is surrounded by beautiful open farmland with some nearby woodland. This is a good walking area and visitors can follow footpaths onto the downs where there are wonderful panoramic coastal views. Nearby is one of the island's most popular seaside resorts of Shanklin, with its beautiful large sandy beach which gently slopes to the water and is ideal for swimming and paddling. This delightful resort offers everything you need for a fantastic holiday with a great range of activities, a traditional amusements and the enchanting Old Village featuring the unique leafy gorge of Shanklin Chine. There really is something for everyone here. Nearby places to visit include Amazon World Zoo Park, the picturesque village of Godshill and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The seaside towns of Sandown and Ventnor are with an easy drive.

This lovely cottage has been lovingly converted from the original stables of Apse Manor House and dates from approximately 1695, and retains a number of original features including exposed beams. On entering you will find yourself in the homely and spacious lounge. With plenty of comfy seating, a Smart TV and CD player with iPod dock, the attractive and welcoming lounge is an ideal space to relax in. Moving into the kitchen/diner you will find a charming dining area. You will find the fitted kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Stairs lead you up to the first floor where you will find two cosy bedrooms. There’s a double room with a TV and a twin zip-and-link which can be made up as a second double room or as a twin room for children upon request (2ft 6 beds). There is also a bathroom complete with a hand held shower and a WC.

The cottage has a pleasant enclosed sunny courtyard with garden furniture and a BBQ so you can enjoy dining outside. A gate opens into a further area where two cars can be parked beside the cottage.

Lovely cottage, perfectly sized for 3 adults and a dog, cosy & with lots of character, nicely furnished. Only really has a bath (stand up shower facilities would have been good), and could have done with an extra loo roll and some instructions on things like bins/recycling - but otherwise a pleasant stay. To describe this as a Shanklin cottage with easy access to the beach etc is stretching credibility a bit far. No where is accessible without a car. There is nothing within walking distance,and the nearest bus stop is a 10 min walk up hill with no pavement. The cottage is adequate,but in need of some TLC and up dating inside.

Beautiful cottage and location. Well equipped but does need improvements to bedroom and bathroom. Excellent position for beach and reaching all I.O.W attraction. Outside area great for relaxing with evening drinks and enjoying peace and quiet.

Lovely cottage, very peaceful and well located. Very clean. Nice to have provisions to make a cuppa on arrival. Plenty of crockery and general kitchen items but no tea towels. Garden very safe for the dog which is a big bonus. Sadly let down due to, very hard bed so not a good sleep. Bedroom window stay falls off in your hand.. Nice cottage, beds really uncomfortable, no shower only hair washing one in bath, woke up early every morning by dogs barking in nearby property that was not a rental so will always be issue.

The cottage was comfortable and roomy for 4 people. Nice location just outside Shanklin. Just a couple of minutes drive into Shanklin. Parking is a bit tight, but I have a large car.

Quiet location. Nice enough house - comfortable. There is a patio but birds are encouraged with feeders etc which is great except the table and chairs were covered each day with bird excrement so we didn't make use of it. We very much enjoyed out stay there but some little touches would improve things eg more than just half a toilet roll and maybe Read moresome local information in a folder as so many cottages have. Very rural location on a converted farm complex. Lovely properties, several privately owned, as well as holiday lets. Comfy cottage with large sofas and cosy feel. Beds firm but comfortable. Bath with handheld shower head so not suitable to have a standup shower without soaking the floors but great for bath lovers. Lovely cottage. Exceeded our expectations as photo does not do it justice. Great rural location, and quiet. Cottage lovely and warm with efficient central heating. No complaints but to achieve perfection the back door lock is a fiddle! And a shield in the bathroom would help with the hand held shower, but only suggestions. Loved our stay. Amazing property photos on Web site don't show it as its best. Really clean you can smell that as soon as open door. Lovely location with short walk up country style lane to bus stop where can go into near Sandown or Newport and access all buses to every part of island. The interior of the cottage and furniture is in need of updating. The shower is situated in the bath and theres no screen/curtain to avoid soaking everything, the shower hose much too short. Cleanliness not great throughout, it smelt musty on arrival, the lounge furniture uncomfortable. We left early as two dogs in neighbouring property barking andRead more fighting all the time. Lovely cottage in a nice quiet area, plenty of places to take a stroll nearby! Everywhere easily accessible from cottage. Cottage itself was comfy, well insulated (not too hot, not too cold!) Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful, well equipped cosy property in a perfect location for our needs. However, large shed takes up big part of tiny courtyard, but borders were well-kempt. Armchairs in lounge do need either serious attention or to be replaced as the bottoms have gone, we padded the bases out with cushions or else they would have been too uncomfortable.
