Property code: JOBES

The cottage is approached via a long private driveway, which allows guests to feel as if they are truly getting away from it all. However, many of Cornwall’s attractions are within easy reach, with the attractive village of Port Isaac, the location for TV’s Doc Martin, only five miles away offering stunning coastal walks, a small fleet of fishing boats, a number of craft shops and, in the summer months, the chance to take a boat trip from the harbour. One of Cornwall’s finest beaches, Polzeath, is just four miles around the coast from Port Isaac and the towns of Tintagel, Padstow and Rock are within easy reach too.

This semi-detached property is a lovely example of a cosy country cottage, with many period features in evidence. The lounge has a large feature fireplace and painted beams, as well as the modern touches you would expect, in the shape of a TV and DVD. The kitchen is, again, an attractive mix of old and new, with its original slate floor, cooker, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine, dishwasher, and microwave. The property’s two bedrooms are on the first floor, which is reached by open-tread stairs. There is one double room and a pretty triple with three single beds, which overlooks the garden below. The property’s bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, there is a large enclosed private garden with seating and lawn. Guests are also able to visit the owner’s many pet animals which include guinea pigs, tortoises, ducks, sheep, exotic birds, their own resident dogs and more.

A delightful secluded cottage with a gorgeous garden. Our hosts gave us a very warm welcome and were lovely with the children showing them the resident animals. The dogs were a real favourite. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a cosy stay.

Back after an amazing week in Cornwall. The cottage was so cosy and comfortable with everything you'd need. The setting was so peaceful, other than birdsong and a cheeky cockerel - we never slept so well, including my toddler. My toddler (and us!) Loved the other animals too, including their sweet dogs. It's a perfect central location for local attRead moreractions and beaches. We hope to be back as our toddler grows as there's so much more to see as she gets older! Thankyou Tracey and Mike! Hide

Jobes cottage is lovely. Situated close to Wadebridge. The children loved being there and near the animals and helping feed the chickens, parrot, tortoise etc. and they couldnt have been kinder to the two girls either. Cottage was lovely- perfect for what we needed and good location for activities.

A great retreat. We loved the cottage and it was the cleanest of any holiday property we've ever stayed in. The garden was large and lovely. The hosts were great. Close enough to the north coast. Lacking wifi, but a better mobile signal than we have where we live. Recommended.
