A picturesque retreat, nestled in an elevated position with beautiful countryside views, it creates the perfect romantic bolt hole for couples to enjoy all year round.

Lympstone is a coastal village with waterside cottages and narrow streets which sits on the edge of the lovely Exe Estuary. Plan a walk or cycle along the picturesque popular estuary trail from Exmouth to Exeter. The seaside resort of Exmouth is close by with it’s cliff top walks and stunning views of the bay, also with  rock pools and seaside attractions. Darts Farm with it's farm shop is within easy reach as is Topsham both well worth a visit. The Exe River cafe (seasonal opening hours) is accessed via boat, and if celebrating a special occasion, try a high tea at Michael Caine's new restaurant, less than a mile from the property. The historic Cathedral city of Exeter is a short drive, train or bus ride away, the Roman Quarry Caves and Seaton Electric Tramway are also nearby.

As you enter this unique retreat, which has been decorated to evoke a calming and spacious feel you are greeted by a lavish open-plan kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is well-equipped with oven and hob and fridge with ice compartment.  The pull down double bed, which is uniquely concealed behind a false wall, sits at one end of the hut beneath a pretty window, on a warm summer's evening why not lie back in bed with the stable door open and enjoy a night of gazing up at the stars or curl up and watch TV or a DVD with the wood burner crackling. Beneath the bed there is plenty of storage for your stay. Located at the other end of the hut is the en-suite shower and WC. This property takes glamping to another level.

Outside, the Shepherds Hut has an enclosed garden area with a table and chairs for enjoying al fresco meals using the charcoal BBQ. As you dine, you will notice the grazing sheep and ponies in the paddocks beyond - a truly unique and memorable experience.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We loved the hut and it's location but thought it was a tiny bit overpriced compared to other full size cottages.

We have had a fantastic time, the hut has everything you need and more for a relaxing break. The nearby pubs and restaurants are a short walk away which was perfect

Cutest little hut. Its got everything we needed. Its clean and cheery decor. The hostess was superb with little touch to the hut, such as finding hot chocolate and marshmallows hiding in the bed compartment. Cakes in the tin. Milk and eggs in the fridge. The location is within a stone toss to the beach and foot walk to a picturesque village.

am a foodie and like to cook my self the hob took an age to heat and a fried egg took about 15 minutes but that is small fry compared to the fabulous and chararmastic and beautiful surroundings and accommodation and the incredibly thoughtful touches (don't want to spoil the delightful surprises) I will be returning and probably in the winter monthsRead more to investigate the even more romantic possibilities of the log burner and scenery Hide

The lew is a unique place to stay. The owners have done a wonderful job and there is everything you need in such a small space, they really have thought of everything. The lew feels like a tardis- it looks small from the outside but inside you feel you have more than enough space and its so homely!

It was marvellous! Our dog loved it and all the ponies and chickens around him!

fine if you are high tech folks remotes for tv heater etc but cooker on faulty safety timer cutting out before food cooked. Although fine for getting out of the snow drifts Main Road near and noise high for sitting outside in good weather. Logs promised for woodburner but none offered had to go to local garage for some. No mobile phone pick up.
