Ground-floor apartment situated on the outskirts of the historic village of Pevensey, a short drive to Pevensey Bay's quiet beaches, and a perfect base to explore the south coast.

This charming getaway for two is located just a short distance from the ancient village of Pevensey. Pevensey Castle began its life as a Saxon Shore fort in the 4th century, and an impressive two-thirds of the original walls still stand, with the Norman parts being added after William the Conqueror’s invasion. English Heritage now manage the castle, and it makes a great place for an afternoon out exploring the towered bailey and the atmospheric dungeons. There is also an interesting gaol and courthouse museum in the village, as well as a number of shops and pubs. The neighbouring village of Pevensey Bay, two miles from the property, is home to a shingle beach which tends to be quieter than other local beaches, even in high-season. The seaside towns of Hastings and Eastbourne are a short drive away.

At the heart of this pleasant ground-floor property is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner: a light and airy room with two comfortable sofas and a TV for guests to enjoy after a busy day of sightseeing. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge.  There is a small table with seating for two next to the patio doors, which open onto the outside seating area. The property’s one bedroom is a peaceful,  relaxing double room with a built-in wardrobe. The wet room, meanwhile, is located close to the bedroom, and offers a walk in wet room and WC.

Outside, there is a secluded shingled courtyard garden to the front of the property, which is accessed through the patio door in the kitchen and offers a table and chairs, making it the ideal place to enjoy al fresco drinks or meals. There is off-road parking which is conveniently situated adjacent to the property.

The cottage was very comfortable and quiet, ideally located for local castles etc that we wanted to visit.

Very clean and comfortable, finished to a high standard. Good location with a great seafood restaurant at the end of the road with the bonus of the castle, tea room and a couple of good pubs in walking distance. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cosy cottage, excellent shower, kitchen area good, but unable to use grill as kept setting smoke alarm off!! Lounge cosy and comfortable, cottage smaller than appears on website, great location for exploring Sussex countryside
