The village of Hope offers great amenities for guests of the cottage, including groceries, a railway station and a post office. Of course there is also a local village pub, The Cheshire Cheese Inn for resting those aching legs after traversing the Pennine Way. For those seeking a gentler walk, the nearby Hope Valley offers various walks through its pretty landscape. The River Noe runs along the boundary of the property and provides wonderfully tranquil walks along the riverbanks.

This apartment offers a brilliant one level living on the ground floor of the charming stone property. The property is positively brimming with character from the fine oak doors and flooring which gives the property a lovely sense of warmth. The lounge has exposed ceiling beams that give the space a cosy feel, and an electric gas coal effect fire provides a central feature to the room. There are two sofas in the lounge, one of which can be turned into a sofa bed if required. Windows overlooking the patio area ensure that the room is bright and airy. The kitchen is well equipped and opens out into the dining area which has a farmhouse style table.

The bedroom is located just off the lounge area and contains a double bed with an additional sofa bed available for occasional use (additional charges apply). The shower room has a small step into the shower and hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a charming private patio area perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the views of the River Noe.

Perfect location, train station nearby, if you like walking you'll love it here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you like walking, so many walks from the doorstep. Lovely area, everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Peak District.

Our second Christmas in this property. It's the perfect location for us to visit different family and friends and for them to visit us. The living area is spacious, warm and comfortable. Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. With everything as described. Great walks from the cottage and with easy walking access to local amenities. Peace and tranquility were supplied in abundance which was just what we needed! Owners were helpful and pleasant but not intrusive.

Lovely quiet location just outside Hope but well within walking distance of the village which offers a great selection of pubs all that have good value food. Plus a great Curry Cabin open each evening and serving lovely food.

If you require a peaceful (apart from the birdsong and lovely river) haven, this beautiful cottage is definately for you. We spent Christmas at Lower Apartment, Hope and it was an ideal base to meet up with friends and family in Sheffield and the northwest. Excellent cottage and location. Well equipped with more than ample storage space, electrical points and seating. Plenty of room throughout, The area is a haven for walkers and beautiful landscapes with walks from the doorstep. Very well suited to dog owners and the physically abled to have a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The accommodation was good but it was not a private and peaceful setting. A well used public footpath passed a few metres from the property, a circular saw was frequently being used generating a lot of noise and the owners dogs were often running free. An excellent cottage, we have never found a better one. Our hosts were helpful and friendly, as were the people in the very good local shops. We will definitely be back to explore more of the Peak District from this lovely base.

When advertised it said enclosed garden but it isn't. Rather just let out the dogs I the garden for a wee or poo we had to walk them everytime.
