Peacefully tucked away in the heart of Devon amongst some of England’s most stunning countryside, within easy reach of seaside resorts and just a short walk to the heart of the pretty village and pub.

The cottage has been lovingly restored and is located in Devon's rolling heartland, on the edge of the friendly village of Lapford and a short stroll from the village pub. For those looking for an adventure during their stay, then you must discover the national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor which are renowned for their changing landscapes, stunning views and rugged, wide open spaces. Also, nearby is the cathedral city of Exeter, which combines high street shopping with places of interest. For those looking for the coast you have plenty to choose from, to the north you have the beautiful beach of Croyde which offers a large sandy beach and to the south you have the dramatic red cliffs of Sidmouth.  Devon offers a multitude of National Trust Properties to enjoy many of which are easily  accessible from this property.  Don't forget your fishing rods, a Carp lake is only minutes away.

This semi-detached cottage is a perfect cosy bolthole for those who want to get away from it all, or a base to explore all that Devon has to offer. The cottage neighbours the owner’s family home where a warm welcome awaits yet privacy is assured. Step into the kitchen/diner from the cobbled courtyard where you can settle in for a snug evening with a feast at the dining table. The kitchen has been thoughtfully fitted with an electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. From here enter the hall which is a perfect place to hang coats and store muddy boots after a countryside walk. As a special treat you may like to indulge in a full English breakfast in the dining room of the owner's adjacent B&B or take advantage of the licenced bar which includes ciders made with apples from the two Lowerfield orchards. The spacious bathroom is also located here with bath, separate shower and WC. Heading upstairs is the cosy lounge with TV/DVD which enjoys views over the gardens. You will also find the king-size bedroom on this floor where you can sleep tight after a full day of exploring.

Venture outside into the cobbled courtyard with table and chairs with your morning coffee. You are welcome to enjoy the attractive shared patio and gardens to the front of the owner’s home where you can enjoy a game of croquet. You may also enjoy the walk down through the avenue of trees accessed through the small gateway halfway up the main driveway. If you are seeking privacy and some total rest then the owners will be pleased to show you some secret corners of the gardens where you can sit and read or do whatever relaxes you, without disturbance. An enclosed garden area is where your four legged friend can stretch their legs.There is allocated off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A wonderful peaceful area for a perfect holiday. Property owned by a friendly and most accommodating couple. Lovely alpacas chickens and ponies in grounds. Great pubs in the area. Would definitely come back.

This property is ideal for a quiet getaway, cosy and comfortable for two and the lovely owners picked up on us wanting peace and quiet and left us to enjoy our weekend break. We had our two spaniels with us and were able to leave the door open for them to come in and out as the courtyard was completely enclosed a real must as the gardens have AlpacRead moreas, Shetland ponies, chickens and ducks. This was a perfect holiday cottage for ourselves and our dog, Rusty. There was a lovely private walled garden for him to run in. The cottage, which was attached to an historic farm house, was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed to cater for ourselves. Our hosts were friendly and extremeful helpful. This cottage is situated in a lovely setting it is the ideal place to take a break especially if you have dogs with the enclosed lawn area. Also the lawn is a sun trap so you can sit out listen to the birds singing what better way to spend a sunny afternoon. Also you are in ideal place to travel to a number of lovely places.

A great little cottage, ideal if you are looking at doing Dartmoor or Exmoor. Pub with good food just a 10 min walk away. Steve and Sandra are very welcoming and have a great set up with all the animals. Will visit again

The cottage is set in the grounds of a beautiful house, set at the back they are quite and private, the secure garden was fantastic for the dogs. cottage is spacious enough to feel very comfortable, parking was right next to the cottage but out of view. the grounds of the house are spectacular and many different animals are to be seen.
