There's plenty to do just outside your door, because the cottage is set in a working farm. You're welcome to say hello to the hens, ducks, sheep, and horses, stroll around the stunning land, and enjoy your own slice of Ayrshire countryside. When you're ready to head beyond the farm, the resort town of Saltcoats is just a mile away, with Stevenston Beach and nature reserve, charming seaside cottages, and an impressive range of golf courses nestled picturesquely around the town.

If you fancy a jaunt further afield, you could take a romantic ferry ride to the Isle of Arran and explore the island's rich history or climb, not quite a “Munro” at 2,866 feet, but the highest peak on Arran — Goatfell, offering unrivalled views of the surrounding drama of the coast. Or take a scenic trip 33 miles along the coast of the Firth of Clyde to visit Culzean Castle, a famously haunted and majestic structure with lovely walled and open grounds to explore.

This cottage is definately value for money. The extent to which the hosts go to, to make your stay is outstanding, from welcoming you at the cottage, to small details like milk in the fridge for a cup of tea, to fresh flowers in the observatory, would fully recommend this cottage to any looking for a restful break.

A beautiful cottage with larger than expected accommodation, nicely furnished and equipped. Warm, with electricity supplied by own wind turbine! Location OK if you're happy to drive to places but not great for walks straight from the cottage. Close to ferry to Arran which is well worth a visit.
