This wonderful red-brick property is the ideal romantic bolthole for couples wanting to explore the beautiful Mid Wales area but still enjoy a little bit of indulgence in the evenings.

Pretty market town Builth Wells is 0.5 miles walk away, and visitors will have no trouble finding something to do there. Try the Wyeside Arts Centre or Groe Park, which has great views of Wye Bridge. Further afield but still within easy reach is the Brecon Beacons (23 miles), perfect for both two- and four-legged walkers, while Cwm Rhaeadr Forest (26 miles) has some fantastic mountain biking trails. Hay-on-Wye (19.5 miles), on the cusp of the Welsh border, boasts independent bookshops, Hay Castle and the Globe at Hay, which hosts an array of performances. For some peace and solitude, visit Elan Valley (17 miles), where you can bird watch, fish, or simply stroll.

Stepping into the property, a bright and airy open-plan living area awaits you. The contemporary kitchen has shiny cupboards and appliances with everything you need to cook up a storm, including an electric oven and microwave; eat at the delightful breakfast bar in the mornings to prepare yourself for an exciting day ahead. In the living area the sofa, which can be made into a double bed, and comfy chairs surround a huge cinema screen TV that has Freeview and a DVD with a selection of films to choose from. Doors lead out to the terrace from this room. Upstairs, a tranquil double bedroom adds a boutique feel to your stay; enjoy your morning coffee on the Juliet balcony that has a table and chairs and offers fabulous views over a small farmyard and to the hills beyond the rooftops of Builth Wells. The spacious en-suite shower room with WC has dazzling marble-effect tiling that makes it a pleasure to freshen up in.

Outside, the decked terrace has garden furniture and a chiminea, making it ideal for al fresco meals whatever the time of day. Look out across spectacular views from the private hot tub after a long day exploring the area.
