This delightful little cottage is just yards from the slipway in Appledore and is within easy walking distance of the bustling quayside, unique galleries, friendly pubs, restaurants and cafes, found amidst the narrow cobbled streets. It is perfectly located for beach-combing the estuary shore and walking the coastal path with its wonderful views, while the nearby beach at Westward Ho! offers great surfing. A short drive will take you to the Elizabethan port of Bideford and the cliff-side village Clovelly. Nearby attractions include the beautiful gardens of Tapeley Park or RHS Rosemoor or for the kids, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way. At the end of the day, watch the sun sink beneath the waves from a waterside pub.

You’ll step into a small entrance lobby before heading into the delightful, open-plan lounge with wood laminate flooring, rugs, pictures and artwork by local artists and an attractive heart creates a cosy feel to the room. When you just want to relax on the sofa you can make use of the TV with BT entertainment, DVD and CD. The kitchen/diner offers painted units, an electric oven, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The bedrooms are accessed via steep staircase from the kitchen and both offer fitted storage and electric radiators. There is one king-size room and a single room with ample space for a cot if you’re bringing a really little one with you. Outside you will have your very own secluded patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. This is accessed 40 meters up a charming drangway, typical of the village.

The location is perfect and the area is amazing- the cottage itself is a brilliant base and had everything you needed. The only negatives are it was very cold and damp and had a damp smell - this would obviously be different in summer. But had everything we needed and we were left some wine and mince pies which was lovely

Had a lovely break in the cottage. Very close to the Quay and local shops / businesses. The cottage is an old fishermans 2 up, 2 down. A little dated but had no issues during our stay.

A great property with all you need in a central location for all local amenities. Loved being able to have my first coffee sat on the harbour steps enjoying the quietness and solitude of the early morning. Also loved that we could drive the dogs to either Instow or Westward Ho beaches close by for a walk before starting our day. The locals are veryRead more warm and welcoming and certainly added to the whole experience. I'm missing Appledore already and am already planning my next visit. Hide

This was a last minute booking for us and we thought this little cottage was lovely. Very well equipped and quaint. It was central to all amenities of Appledore, allowing us to walk to everything we needed. We parked on the main car park a few minutes walk away. We had a wonderful stay at Sals Place. The cottage was snug and cosy, the kitchen was well equipped and the double bed very comfortable. Bedding and towels clean and good quality, and we loved the little touches to the cottage. Lots of hot water for a bath after a day of walking the excellent surrounding beaches.

Cottage small but everything you need and perfect for 2 people. In a great location but garden a little way up an alley. Parking very near by and good idea to get a tourist permit from Torridge Council which allows you to use the near by car park and ones locally. Would definitely recommend Sals Place and Appledore for a dog friendly holiday

Very compact cottage, suitable for two, ideally situated. Don't expect to do much self catering, much more suitable for eating out. Beds very comfortable, but not alot of floor space in main bedroom.

Excellent location, well equipped cottage, but it is small. Not a problem but it took us a short while to get used to it. I got a parking permit for the week for Appledore car parks (Torridge council). Parking was easy and only minutes from the cottage. I would go again.
