This former stable block has been sympathetically converted to offer charming accommodation with plenty of features throughout. Set in rural surroundings it's a great choice for those looking for a romantic break.

This charming property is located close to the village of Pett, which boasts two pubs, a farm shop, post office and family butcher. Surrounded by the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cottage is perfect for keen walkers looking to explore the countryside and take in the many stunning vistas. Hop in the car for just five minutes and you’ll reach the Sussex coastline, where the super beaches of Fairlight, Pett and Winchelsea are well-worth a visit.

Enter the cottage through the pretty wooden porch and stable door into the main reception room. Vaulted ceilings are lined with original oak beams, which match the heated floor below, while new Velux windows flood the room with natural light. Straight ahead of you, the kitchen/diner adopts a distinctly farmhouse feel with cream cabinets, wooden worktops and a painted kitchen table. The kitchen has been equipped with an oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, washing machine, dishwasher and butler’s sink. The lounge to the right is cosy and inviting, with comfortable sofas, cushions and a woodburner with initial supply of logs set in an alcove fireplace, the perfect way to warm up after a long walk in the countryside. A hand-painted Welsh dresser houses games, DVDs and an iPod dock for additional entertainment. There is also a walk-in clothes storage cupboard. To the other side of the kitchen is the light and bright double bedroom which has a beam-lined ceiling and views over the farm courtyard with en-suite shower and WC.

Step back through the stable door and you’ll find yourself in a pretty paved area and enclosed garden with table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a summer BBQ with the farmyard ducks for company.

The cottage is in a beautiful location and is so quiet and peaceful that it is so easy to relax. The fresh eggs, milk, wine and cookies were a lovely bonus. Watching the activity at the stables and the daily visits from the hens and rabbits were an added bonus.

the cottage was well equipped, with everything you could possibly need. A very good location, ear the sea, with great views and lots of footpaths. Local pubs serve very good food. The owner was next door and available for useful advice, nothing too much trouble. A perfect holiday location, nothing to complain about at all.

I wanted to give feedback for Shepherd's Cottage in Pett, Sussex, where I stayed earlier in March - the feedback form crashed part way and I can't reopen it. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and well-equipped - a great shower and lovely fluffy towels. The owner left daffodils and fresh eggs, which was a nice touch. Thanks

Wonderful little cottage in a great location. Could not have been happier. All perfect - bottle of wine and milk in the fridge and eggs on the side ready for breakfast. We would love to stay there again. The booking was easy and straightforward with great communication.

Wonderful restful stay. Lovely walks and excursions. We enjoyed celebrating our birthdays with the 'fizz' and the farm eggs were scrumptious. Beautifully clean and pretty cottage and peaceful scenery. Thank you for a great break in the countryside.

We have really enjoyed our weekend here and find it a very peaceful haven! Sadly not enough time to do very much, but we thoroughly recommend the 'Tea Ship and Galley at Rye Harbor. We have had good walks around the Rye Harbor Nature Reserve and the Fairlight shoreline, and there's pleanty more to do another time! The closest pub is the Two SawyersRead more in Pett, and The Royal Oak a bit further along in Pett and The Smugglers Inn in Pett Level serves food and is right by the sea. Thank you for a lovely stay! Hide
