This charming cottage is ideally situated for lovers of outdoor pursuits. Located in the picturesque Avon valley with local pub, on the edge of the New Forest National Park and within easy reach of the coast, you’re sure to enjoy exploring the many walking and cycling routes in the surrounding area. Further afield take a trip to nearby Ringwood and Christchurch where you can while away an afternoon browsing the shops or relax in one of the popular cafes. For more of an adventure why not visit the local outdoor activity centre or try your hand at fishing.

Stepping inside, you enter the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has been furnished with care to ensure all of your comforts are considered. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and microwave. There is comfortable dining space adjacent to the kitchen area, perfect for a cosy meal for two or a lazy breakfast. Just next door is the contemporary shower room with WC. Take time to relax in the inviting lounge area, where you can relax after a day of exploring and watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV. From this room a staircase leads to an enticing, mezzanine style, double bedroom with restricted head height, overlooking the lounge.

Heading outside you will find a private enclosed terrace with garden furniture, a charcoal BBQ and hot tub. This area is perfect for a spot of al fresco dining and getting some fresh air. Off-road parking for one car is available to the rear of the cottage with shared path leading to property entrance.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Lovely clean little cottage. The personal touches were so nice (cake and wine on arrival ) the basket of little things you may have forgotten, the dog treats. Loved the hot tub even though we had snow it was warm enough for us to sit for as long as we wanted. Really cosy and warm. This is a lovely cottage in a fabulous location. A warm welcome with two pieces of cake and a bottle of fizz, what's not to love? The cottage is very private and the hot tub perfect. We spent the week going on local walks courtesy of the guide book in the cottage. The boot room and ability to shower dog is a great idea. Stayed here with my wife and our dog for 3nights over New Years Eve. The recently refurbished cottages are ideal for a stay in the new forest. Close to all major attractions, the cottage has everything you need for a lovely weekend away. Shire Cottage is the perfect place to stay for a peaceful, private, homely getaway for two. The cottage is imaculate and kept to a very high standard and the hot tub is so relaxing. Location is central to lots of picturesque villages within the new forest but is also hidden away for total peace and privacy.

This is the most amazing place to stay - couldnt fault it. Lovely & quiet in a perfect location for days out in the New Forest. Sally & Simon are the perfect hosts and really have thought of every detail. The hot tub is amazing. Theres a boot room for wet days, complete with warm shower to clean off boots and/or dog!
