Stockford Lodge is a beautiful thatched cottage set in woodland. The cottage is close to the road, but worth accepting that for the view to the rear of the property along with the wildlife and extensive woodland and flowers. Wareham is close by, with great pub food the Quay and the Granary Inns. It's worth booking a table as they can get busy. LotsRead more of places to visit and walks along the coastline. Beautiful cottage, great location with very private garden/woodland. Loved seeing the deer in the mornings and afternoons, we would definitely stay here again. Yes there is some road noise when you are in bed but that didn't bother us at all. Lovely welcome pack left out for us on arrival which was very welcome.

Really quirky property and lived up to our expectations. The deer visited twice a day, and it was great to sit and watch them with the first cup of tea is the day!. This tiny, enchanting cottage is in a great location for discovering the wonderful Jurassic Coast. It is in a beautiful woodland but as it is an old gate lodge, right by a main road. Very cleverly laid out accommodation in the small inside space, it worked for three of us nicely for a few days.

We stayed here with our 2 grandsons aged 6 & 7. Good location for surrounding attractions. On a busy road so we didn't get much sleep due to traffic noise. The cottage was smaller than expected. Granchildren loved playing in the woods. Served its purpose for a short stay. Would not recommend staying here if you have young children.

The only comment we feel we would make is that in the Bathroom, there should be some form of safety handle on the wall and somewhere to put shower gel, shampoo etc. This applies mainly to the Rain shower over the bath (not the mixer tap)

Charmingly quirky period property in an excellent location for exploring this part of southern England. Wonderful to see wild deer from the kitchen window every morning. Kitchen and dining areas are well appointed, but lounge furniture is a bit tired, - and beware of low hanging light fittings if you're tall!

The woodland area and the deer are the main attraction here. The cottage is quaint but is not really suitable for four people unless very close family. The second toilet is off the double bedroom but would not be suitable for guests in the twin room to access during the night. Close to Wareham and other local attractions
