This stylish former barn is family and dog friendly, with far-reaching views and wide open spaces not to mention the wood burner to relax in front of after a long day. A great choice for a relaxing holiday.

A beautiful rural spot boasting views across the Blackmore Vale, located half a mile from the village of Okeford Fitzpaine, where you’ll find a shop and pub. Explore the many footpaths nearby, including the Wessex Ridgeway or head to the market town of Sturminster Newton (3 miles) for a stroll along the trailway or around the pretty working mill. Hambledon Hill and neighbouring Hod Hill (5 miles) are well worth a visit and once at the top you are rewarded with far-reaching views across three counties. Enjoy wild swimming in the River Stour in the summer months or head to Blandford forum (6 miles) where there is a brewery tap and waterside walks, or visit Shaftesbury’s iconic Gold Hill (8 miles).

Accessed via an unmade lane and shared drive (bumpy in places), this semi-detached converted barn is timber clad and has lovely far reaching views over the surrounding countryside. Set within an organic farm, sliding doors give access into the light and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. To the rear of the space is the kitchen, which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is space to dine just opposite and comfortable seating in the living area, both areas allow for you to appreciate the privacy and outside beauty of the farm. The large comfy sofa  beside the wood burner allows for you to fully relax of an evening while making use of the Smart TV. A shower room with walk-in shower and WC is on the ground floor, stairs rising to the first floor located between kitchen and bathroom. Here you will find a king-size bedroom with balcony window so you can really take in the breath taking scenery and a comfortable twin bedroom just opposite. A separate WC is placed between the two bedrooms. Due to the setting within the eaves, there are some areas of restricted head height, which only adds to the character and charm of the converted building.

To the rear of the property is an open terrace with a dividing privacy fence, picnic bench, charcoal BBQ (in the summer months) and a large open fields, ideal for all outdoor adventures, activities and ball games. Stabling and use of a paddock are available on request.

Location stunning, The drive way down is an unmade road, so take it slow but its fine. No big bumps. The barn next door to us it being renovated, so a bit of noise going on , but as we were out exploring the area, when we came home it was peaceful again. Great Dorset countryside .

Lovely Barn Conversion that has amazing views. If you have read in previous reviews that the road to the barn is bumpy, It was on the day we arrived (albeit not as bad as I was expecting) but this was relaid while we were there (so now nice and smooth!) Barn is furnished to a really high standard. Make sure you open the Velux window upstairs to givRead moree you a mini-balcony to check out those views in the evening. Great converted barn, lovely decor, comfortable and amazing views and wildlife! Fantastic to have free of charge tennis court. Quiet location. The only negatives to mention are low ceiling on the first floor and last bit of the road 0.7 miles or so is a horror story!
