Venues in the city include Eden Court Theatre, the Ironworks, and a cinema, with a range of festivals taking place throughout the year. Exploring the area further, you can visit the famous Loch Ness (10 miles), Culloden Battlefield (8 miles) and Clava Cairns (9 miles). For a day by the seaside, head to the popular Victorian resort of Nairn (17 miles).

The second floor features an additional lounge area with spectacular views and a sofa bed for two additional guests.

Heading outside, you will find the large enclosed garden has been specially designed to allow you to drink in the extraordinary sea views. On occasion, dolphins can be glimpsed leaping out of the water across the firth, and seals frequently bathe just 150 metres or so from the fence. The garden is also an ideal spot to sit back and enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine on the evening. Parking is available for one car on the driveway, and for three cars in the garage.

Tangle tower is an amazing property on the beach in Inverness, it had everything I wanted except dolphins and an elevator to the top floor. If you are looking for a city holiday with a coast feel then this is the place for you. Inverness is a short drive form the property, or you could just stay at home and admire the view. Panoramic views of the MRead moreoray firth from every floor with binoculars and telescopes as part of the rental. The property also has wi-fi. The only drawback with the property is the price, this week was a treat for me and my husband but I don't think our budget would allow us to return. Hide

Excellent and very comfortable accommodation, with everything done to a very high standard. A beautiful and very thoughtful conversion. We also loved the maritime theme which reflects the tower's former role. The views are beyond amazing - even better than anticipated. It was great to have the top floor room for an even better vantage point! If theRead more weather had been better we would have taken full advantage of the terrace and garden. Cherry was very friendly and helpful. One of the best places we have stayed in. Hide

A new area of Scotland for us to explore and we weren't short of things to do - Culloden, Cawdor, Cromarty, Dornoch, Glen Affric and the amazing bookstore in Inverness plus a good arts centre. This was just a start, there was plenty more. Tangle Tower was an ideal base, well designed, facing out on the Beauty and Moray Firths, the water literally lRead moreapping against our terrace at high tide. Generous parking and outside storage space. There were walks direct from the house along the coast line, through the nature reserve, across the Caledonian canal and to the friendly pub in a neighbouring village. The quality of furnishings was excellent, the top floor viewing room a real magnet. Our only suggestions for improvement were the provision of either a second bathroom [or at least a separate lavatory], hanging space for the first floor bedroom, and a better fridge design. Our link person was very responsive and matters were dealt with in a prompt and friendly fashion. Hide
