Cosy coastal retreat tucked away in the heart of Appledore perfect for couples and small families. 2 minutes walk from the quayside, beach 2 miles, shops, pubs and restaurants all walking distance.

This 2 bedroom coastal retreat is perfect for a couple or a small family. The cottage has been tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. Located in the pretty, fishing village of Appledore, this cosy cottage is 2 minutes' walk from the quayside and village shops.

Hidden in the quaint streets of Appledore you will discover the many galleries and local artist's studios. Visit the maritime museum, take a trip on the river or simply stroll down to the quayside to watch the world go by. In the evening, either dine in one of the local pubs and restaurants or retreat to the privacy of the cottage for a quiet BBQ. Westward Ho! is a short drive away, and with 2 miles of sandy beach, is ideal for swimming or surfing. The nearby town of Bideford offers a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an historic quayside and art museum. Local attractions include The Big Sheep, Tapeley Park, The Milky Way, Rosemoor Gardens and Dartington Crystal.

Stepping in the spacious ground floor is open-plan offering exposed beams, comfortable seating, wood burner, flatscreen TV and DVD. The kitchen area is modern and fully equipped with attention to detail throughout and door leading to dining room. The dining room is located at the back of the property in the conservatory with double doors opening onto the decked area. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, one king-size with TV and 1 single both tastefully decorated and light and airy.  The shower room also on first floor with heated towel rail and WC. 

Outside is an enclosed decked area with garden furniture perfect for sitting out enjoying a cool drink.

Nice cottage, friendly neighbours and community. Johns excellent for food and deli. Good restaurants, need to book early at busy times. Recommend travelling light as a bit of a trek with bags from car. Beaches great, Maritime Museum well worth a visit.

Loved our 2 weeks at the cottage. Everything you need is provided. The garden is a sun trap and though small is well laid out and perfect to sit in for a day away from exploring. We found the cottage was like a home from home. One thing that I was glad I'd arranged was a home delivery from the supermarket. No need to carry shopping up the small hilRead morel. A lovely cottage in a lovely seaside town. We parked our car in the long stay Churchfields Car Park on arrival at a very reasonable 16.00 for 7 days.

A lovely, clean and pretty cottage in a really great location in Appledore. We really enjoyed having everything close to hand in the village and there are some very good restaurants and shops to enjoy. Lovely to walk to the Burrows and onto the the beach, we did go further afield to Hartland Quay and Point for more dramatic and scenic coastal walksRead more. Very clean quaint and coastal themed artistic interior, bright, clean and uplifting. Comfortable /beautiful furniture with a rustic feel. Very strong and efficient shower with easy to use amenities. A very relaxing and visually calming, a pleasure to stay.

The Deckhouse is a delightful cottage at the top of one of the pretty little streets in Appledore, the cottage is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals if you so wish. We especially loved the conservatory and the private walled garden although unfortunately the weather wasn't suitable to be able to sit outside when we were there.Read more Upstairs there is a good sized double bedroom and a small single bedroom both tastefully decorated, the bathroom is small but looks new, lovely house Hide

The cottage was superbly decorated throughout. Everything we needed was catered for. Great location easy walking distance to shops pubs and restaurants. Weather was ok as you would expect at the end of September . We loved appledore very quaint and the surrounding areas.

Beautiful cottage in a quiet peaceful location in Appledore. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped Beautiful sunny courtyard garden and the dining table in the conservatory was lovely to eat in or enjoy a coffee . A beautiful, cosy and warm cottage. Private and peaceful and the location was perfect. We love this part of Devon and Appledore is delightful. We felt completely at home at The Deckhouse, it was so clean and comfortable. We were able to explore the area both on glorious walks and further afield to Woolacombe and my favourite, Heartland Point and QuRead moreay. Unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions we didn't experience any the local pubs, restaurants or shops but John's was perfect for our needs. Hide

The Deckhouse was the perfect cottage for a autumn family break in Appledore. It's the perfect location, very quiet and very cosy. We loved having a log burner to return to in the evenings after blustery walks in Appledore.

Great location near to all the lovely local shops and pubs. Really quiet and cosy. All the equipment you could need to make your stay truely homely. Good bus serve to Bideford if you dont want to drive. Beautiful coastal walks is a must.
