This property is perfect for any couple wishing to celebrate any occasion or simply relax and re-charge in stylish surroundings while exploring this part of East Anglia.

Located close to the border of Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, the cottage is ideally placed to explore the many delights of the area whatever the time of year. Enjoy country lanes to walk or cycle and a plethora of charming medieval towns and villages to visit. With castles at Colchester and Castle Hedingham, and the lovely English Heritage property Audley End House, with its gardens and stables, sightseers will be spoilt for choice. Renowned for their antique warehouses, shops and boutiques many of the local wool towns will provide any retail therapy required, and a visit to the Suffolk Heritage coast is highly recommended with beautifully scenic seaside towns and villages to enjoy.

Upon arriving at the impressive Stambourne Hall and passing through the tall iron gates and tree-lined driveway to the cottage, guests will find the beautiful east wing, entered via a wide hallway with brick flooring and ample space for coats and shoes. Moving through to the bright and airy lounge/diner guests can relax after a day of exploring the local area. A large inglenook fireplace with contemporary wood burner provides a perfect backdrop for any romantic evening curled up on the comfortable sofas, watching a film on the TV/DVD or dining at the table overlooking the grounds. Exposed beams and rustic flooring combined with a subtle colour palette keep the cottage’s character and history evident, no more so than when entering the bespoke kitchen. Here, existing structures such as the cattle trough, which now forms a unique kitchen sink, and old oven and copper water pot are now combined with contemporary conveniences such as an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a handy dishwasher. Moving up the cottage style timber staircase to the first floor, guests will find a large landing/dressing area with wooden floor, exposed beams and seating, with games and books. Here you will also find the door leading through to the bedroom. This spacious bedroom easily accommodates the comfy king-size bed and furniture while providing views of the grounds and beyond. Completing the accommodation is a contemporary bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.

For those who enjoy relaxing outside, a garden area with garden furniture and BBQ provide al fresco dining opportunities during the warmer months, and guests are welcome to walk around the acres of grounds where views of rolling countryside are aplenty. There is off-road parking for one car.
