Conveniently situated, it is possible to walk into the village of Dolton, and this is steeped in history and boasts a village shop and Post Office, local butcher and a choice of pub. The coast is never far away and the golden sands of Westward Ho! and Saunton are well worth a visit. Other attractions in the area include the historic Cavalier town of Torrington, Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Bideford, and from here you can enjoy day trips to Lundy Island on the MS Oldenburg, Tapeley Park, and numerous National Trust properties.

From here you will then discover the lounge and this is presented in a lovely light and airy country style and boasts a Smart TV with Freesat, and also a cosy wood burner. On the other side of the property, you will find the king-size bedroom with stunning antique French bed frame, and sitting next to this is the shower room with underfloor heating and WC, period style bathroom furniture and a custom made glass and oak framed shower surround.

Venturing outside, a lovely small lawn area is located at the side of the property and here a bistro table and chairs and BBQ have been provided for guests, further to this it is possible to explore the land. Beautifully appointed holiday cottage. Furnishings are of a high quality and comfort. The area is wonderfully quiet with easy access to Dartmoor and the coast. The Rams Head Inn in Dolton provides excellent food at a reasonable price - 15min walk from the property.

We stayed at the lovely property for a long weekend and it was just amazing. The Gatehouse is a lovely old building, yet has been equipped to a modern standard that still retains its olde world charm. We could not fault this property in any way and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering a visit.

The Gatehouse if a fantastic place to holiday. The cottage itself is lovely, the location is beautiful and the owners are friendly and helpful. It is positioned half-way between Dartmoor and Exmoor, which makes it ideal for exploring the Devon and Somerset landscapes, but it is also close enough to the coast to make that within easy reach. There arRead moree also 700 acres of estate to explore. We would highly recommend it. Hide

The Gate House is situated in a beautiful estate where you can roam the woods and gardens. Really located in 'rural devon' but ideal for those that like walking the lanes but close enough to other tourist areas if you take the car.

The Gate House is not only beautiful and extremely well renovated and furnished, but it is also set amongst stunning gardens. The view out of every window is fabulous and the wandering peacocks just add to the charm. Coming back after a days sightseeing is like returning to your own Manor House. Everything about this property is 5*

Unique property that has been sympathetically renovated set in a stunning location. Friendly, welcoming hosts who made us feel very comfortable and allowed us to walk around the lovely gardens and grounds. Cover was initially provided for the car due to the peacocks however a garage was then made available to us. Village pub, Rams Head, serving fanRead moretastic food, booking advisable at weekends. The lanes around the property can be very narrow in parts and have high hedges so caution is needed. Hide
