Overlooking the river, this handsome building was once a thriving mill. Today it provides a place for those who seek true peace and relaxation, enjoy the beautifully kept grounds or venture down the river path.

Ground floor apartment sleeping four guests, situated in a handsome former mill in the eastern region of the picturesque Lake District, just five miles from the shores of Lake Windermere. The lake and its shores are a wonderfully scenic location to enjoy a huge range of outdoor activities a well as a good network of footpaths. Activities range from leisurely boat trips to open-water swimming, fell walking, cycling, canoeing, and sailing. Those with an interest in culture and history are also well-catered for in the area, with the stately home at Sizergh Castle lying six miles south of the property and is a fascinating destination for a day out, particularly when coupled with a stop at Sizergh Barn, a fantastic farm shop and tearoom, which is also home to a fun and educational farm trail.

Stepping through the apartment’s private entrance, guests will come first to a garden room which provides them with a lovely place to sit back and enjoy the views across the garden. This room, in turn, leads onto the spacious lounge/diner, an elegantly styled room with two comfortable sofas, a roaring log fire, and Smart TV and DVD as well as super-fast fibre broadband. The dining area is situated at the opposite end of the room, and makes the perfect space to enjoy leisurely meals in the evenings. Next to the dining area, the kitchen is well-equipped and offers an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The apartment has two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both tastefully finished to a high standard. Guests have a choice between a shower room with WC, and a bathroom which has a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, the shared riverside gardens are an attractive place to sit out and enjoy the tranquillity of the location. There are benches dotted about to give guests a quiet space to sit, but please be aware that the river is not fenced. There is parking provided for two cars and there is bike storage available.

Beautiful location very quiet and peaceful. Apartment is well furnished, comfortable and has everything you could possibly want. Very comfortable beds. The only let down was the apartment has a very strong smell of dampness and for all there were several air fresheners around the house it done little to mask the problem, as my wife sufferers from mRead moreild asthma this was a major problem to her. Lovely well equipped place to stay. Roads are small with many bends when travelling to and from property but a quiet location with lovely garden area. Comfortable beds and good showers.

The flat was very spacious, excellently equipped and felt very much like a well loved home. Lovely outdoor area with good access to walking routes and a short drive to lake Windermere. We had a relaxing stay.

Spacious and well equipped cottage which is well furnished and comfortable for a family of 4. Nice and quiet location if a little tricky to find down the narrow lanes. It is well located for Bowness/Windermere though via car only. The cottage was musty on arrival and felt like it needed a good airing, particularly in the wardrobes. But it was a verRead morey comfortable stay. We did suffer quite a lot noise disturbance from the property above - maybe the family were loud and they had kids and a dog. Hide

Lovely apartment, very comfy and nice and spacious. Nice shower rooms. Setting is idyllic, beautiful garden and fields round about for walking. Very rural location.

The location of the cottage was very good, the beds were most comfortable and the living area was great for relaxing in. Our biggest problem was the hob and oven. Sometimes we couldn't get the grill and/or various hobs to work. We read and reread the instructions but sometimes we couldn't get one or the other to work. We had a really great time at Mill House. It's a very clean and modern apartment. The location is alright, very much depends where you want to go to in The Lakes. For us we booked it before we knew that and once we arrived we realised most of what we were doing/going was always a bit of a trek.
