Located near the confluence of the North and South River Tyne, with wonderful scenery, walking, and cycling opportunities so you can enjoy the flora and fauna and spot some local wildlife. There is a popular pub just half a mile from the doorstep and the nearby market town of Hexham (3 miles) provides a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants, golf, and river walking routes. Visit Hexham Abbey and enjoy afternoon tea in the courtyard followed by a stroll around scenic Sele Park. Head to The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre and the Roman forts and museums at Vindolanda and Housesteads, all within 12 miles. Walk sections of Hadrian’s Wall and explore the breath-taking scenery and pretty villages in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Access the cottage through the porch/boot room where you can leave your outdoor clothing and boots. The hallway leads you through to the bright and airy kitchen/diner with high ceilings and plenty of natural light flooding in whilst French doors lead out into the garden. The kitchen looks onto the garden and comes with everything you need to make a hearty meal after a day out walking and exploring, including an electric oven and hob, built-in microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Sit together at the dining table to enjoy sociable meals and plan your activities with the help of a range of ordnance survey maps for reference. The generous twin bedroom is also on the ground floor with a couple of chairs where you could sit with a book for a quiet read and French doors lead out onto the front. There is a shower room off the hallway with a shower and WC. Head upstairs to find the lounge with vaulted ceilings and plenty of character. Unwind on the comfortable sofas in front of the cosy wood burner and enjoy a movie on Smart TV. A glazed door leads onto a small balcony with a bistro table and two chairs where you can sit with a drink admiring the views. Alternatively, head into the cosy sunroom just off the lounge to sit and relax or enjoy a little bird watching and star gazing. The second bedroom is on this floor with a king-size bed and a recess with open hanging space for your belongings. The en-suite bathroom completes the accommodation with a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, there is an enclosed raised lawn and sunny patio area with mature plants and shrubs with garden furniture where you can enjoy alfresco dining. You can store your bikes securely in the shed.

Delightful accommodation in a beautiful area. I hadn't realised how stunning the area is until visiting. Easy access to Newcastle and Carlisle by road or rail if required. Lots of fantastic walks in the vicinity.

The cottage was great location, lots to see and do in the area.We know the area so we took our friends out and about. Shame the boatside pub had been shut in the village for refurbishment as its a lovely place to visit. Instead went to Sun inn in Acomb village lovely food and atmosphere.

Wonderful cottage. Photos didn't do it full justice! Never stayed in a holiday cottage with so much equipment - masses of pots, pans, utensils, glasses. Towels and bedlinen very good quality. So warm - especially in the kitchen with only underfloor heating! Had to turn down radiators upstairs once we had warmed through. Some evenings we didn't evenRead more light a fire although the weather was awful with driving rain most days and so so so windy! Would definitely recommend this cottage. Hide
